Role Description
The Head – Human Resources will lead the HR function across Pune Gas and play a strategic role in building organizational capability, culture, systems, leadership depth, and employee engagement. This role will be responsible for creating scalable HR structures and processes aligned with the company’s growth ambitions across manufacturing, projects, engineering, sales, service, and corporate functions.
The ideal candidate should combine strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities and have prior experience working in fast-growing industrial, manufacturing, engineering, EPC, energy, or technology-driven organizations.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Organization Development
- Develop and implement the overall HR strategy aligned with Pune Gas’ business goals and long-term vision.
- Build a high-performance, values-driven, and growth-oriented organizational culture.
- Drive organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.
- Partner with leadership teams to improve organizational effectiveness and productivity.
- Lead change management initiatives during business transformation and expansion.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
- Build strong talent acquisition systems for engineering, manufacturing, projects, sales, service, and leadership hiring.
- Strengthen employer branding to position Pune Gas as a preferred workplace within the energy and engineering industry.
- Develop campus hiring, industry partnerships, and leadership hiring pipelines.
- Standardize recruitment processes, competency frameworks, and assessment methodologies.
Performance Management & Capability Building
- Oversee performance management system already implemented with clear review mechanisms.
- Create learning & development frameworks for technical, managerial, and leadership capabilities.
- Drive leadership development and managerial effectiveness programs.
- Build career progression and internal growth pathways across departments.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Establish robust HR policies, SOPs, and governance systems.
- Ensure compliance with all labour laws, statutory regulations, and HR documentation requirements.
- Oversee payroll coordination, attendance systems, employee records, and HR audits.
- Drive HR digitization and implementation of HRMS/ERP systems.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Build employee engagement initiatives that strengthen collaboration, accountability, and ownership.
- Drive internal communication and employee recognition programs.
- Lead employee grievance management and conflict resolution processes.
- Foster a culture aligned with Pune Gas’ values of trust, integrity, innovation, safety, and customer focus.
Manufacturing & Plant HR
- Support the development of HR systems and workforce structures for Pune Gas’ expanding manufacturing operations.
- Work closely with plant leadership to improve workforce productivity, discipline, and engagement.
- Develop frameworks for shop-floor capability development and operational excellence.
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institute.
- 12–18 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, engineering, EPC, industrial products, energy, infrastructure, or related sectors preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR strategy, organization development, talent management, and labour compliance.
- Experience in building HR systems and processes in growing organizations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives with operational execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership and adaptability.
