Role Purpose
The Head – Human Resources is responsible for designing and leading the enterprise-wide HR strategy across manufacturing plants, corporate office, and distributed sales locations. The role ensures statutory compliance, robust industrial relations, leadership capability building, and a high‑performance, values‑driven culture aligned with the organization’s business strategy and growth plans.
This position acts as a strategic advisor to the leadership team while ensuring strong HR operations, governance, and people practices across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership
· Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with business goals, growth plans, and operational priorities across factory, corporate, and sales functions.
· Partner with the MD/CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, productivity improvement, and change management initiatives.
· Act as a trusted HR advisor to business leaders on talent, structure, leadership effectiveness, and employee relations.
2. Industrial Relations & Statutory Compliance (Factory HR)
· Lead industrial relations strategy including union management, negotiations, settlements, disciplinary processes, and dispute resolution.
· Ensure full compliance with Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour Act, PF, ESI, Gratuity, Standing Orders, and state-specific labour laws.
· Oversee contract labour governance, vendor audits, and statutory documentation at plant locations.
· Maintain a stable, compliant, and harmonious industrial environment enabling uninterrupted plant operations.
3. HR Operations & Governance (Multi‑Location)
· Establish and standardize HR policies, SOPs, and systems across corporate, factory, and sales offices while allowing for location-specific needs.
· Oversee HR operations, payroll governance, attendance, leave, and employee lifecycle management across all sites.
· Ensure compliance with Shops & Establishments Acts applicable to corporate and sales offices.
· Drive HR audits, risk mitigation, and governance frameworks.
4. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
· Lead manpower planning for manufacturing, corporate, and sales functions in line with business demand.
· Oversee recruitment strategies for plant manpower, technical roles, sales teams, and leadership positions.
· Ensure strong employer branding, effective onboarding, and reduced time-to-productivity.
5. Performance Management & Productivity
· Design and implement a robust performance management system aligned to business KPIs and operational excellence.
· Drive performance culture across plant, sales, and corporate teams with clear goal setting, reviews, and differentiation.
· Support productivity improvement initiatives in manufacturing and sales through capability building and workforce optimization.
6. Learning, Leadership Development & Succession Planning
· Create enterprise-wide learning & development frameworks for frontline workers, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders.
· Drive leadership development, talent reviews, and succession planning for critical and leadership roles.
· Partner with external institutions and experts for capability building where required.
7. Compensation, Benefits & HR Budgeting
· Design and manage compensation and benefits structures ensuring internal equity, statutory compliance, and market competitiveness.
· Oversee payroll governance, incentive schemes (including plant productivity and sales incentives), and benefits administration.
· Own the HR budget, cost optimization, and ROI tracking of people initiatives.
8. Employee Engagement, Culture & Grievance Management
· Foster a strong organizational culture aligned with company values across diverse locations and workforce segments.
· Establish effective employee communication, engagement, and grievance redressal mechanisms, including POSH compliance.
· Build trust-based employee relations across factory, sales, and corporate teams.
9. HR Team Leadership & Capability Building
· Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team across corporate office, plants, and regional sales locations.
· Build strong HRBP capability and functional expertise in IR, C&B, TA, L&D, and HR operations.
· Ensure consistent HR service delivery while enabling local responsiveness.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
· MBA / PGDM in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Personnel Management
· Additional certifications in Labour Laws, OD, or Executive Coaching preferred
Experience
· 16–22 years of progressive HR experience, with significant exposure to:
· Manufacturing / Plant HR and Industrial Relations
· Multi-location HR operations
· Leadership roles covering corporate and field/sales populations
· Demonstrated experience in union handling, labour law compliance, and factory HR governance
· Strong exposure to strategic HR leadership, transformation, and scale-up environments
Key Competencies & Skills
· Deep knowledge of Indian labour laws and factory HR practices
· Strong leadership presence and stakeholder management skills
· Strategic thinking with operational execution capability
· High credibility with business leaders and employee groups
· Change management, negotiation, and conflict resolution expertise
· Ability to operate in complex, multi-site organizations
