Are you right for this role?
Must-Have Attributes
- 5+ years of experience in growth, marketing or business development at an ecommerce enabler
- Has owned a revenue or activation metric end-to-end — not just campaigns, but full-funnel growth including acquisition, onboarding and retention
- Deep understanding of the D2C or MSME ecosystem in India — the platforms, the pain points, and the people
- Strong product instinct - ability to work with the product team to drive growth through the product itself, not just around it
- Data-driven to the core - comfortable pulling data, building dashboards and making decisions from numbers
- Excellent communicator - equally effective writing a cold outreach sequence and presenting a growth strategy to the founding team
- Evidence of founding team traits — taking ownership, working cross-functionally and thriving in fast-paced environments
- Based in/willing to relocate to Mumbai
- Available to start within 45 days
Good-to-Have Attributes
- Experience scaling a B2B product from a few hundred to thousands of customers
- Has built or managed partnerships with D2C enablers such as marketplaces, SaaS platforms, logistics providers, or agencies
- Experience with credit or lending products, understanding of how financial products are positioned and sold to businesses
- Proficient with growth and marketing automation tools, CRMs, lifecycle email, in-app messaging
- Has run community-led or content-led growth programs, not just performance marketing
- Prior experience at a company where PLG (product-led growth) was a primary growth motion
Overview of the Job
This role has complete ownership of Merito’s growth engine. You will:
- Define and execute the strategy to scale Merito’s brand base from 800+ to 100,000+
- Own the full growth funnel - awareness, acquisition, activation, and retention across both the SaaS platform and lending product
- Build and manage partnerships with D2C ecosystems - marketplaces, accelerators, investor networks, and brand communities
- Work closely with product to embed growth loops into the platform itself - referrals, virality, and network effects
- Collaborate with the credit and data teams to design GTM strategies for Merito’s lending products
- Build and lead a lean, high-output growth team over time
