Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly structured leader to head Governance for Product Engineering. This role will be responsible for establishing operational rigor, delivery governance, execution transparency, risk management, quality controls, and cross functional alignment across product engineering programs.
The ideal candidate will drive governance frameworks that enable predictable delivery, scalable engineering practices, faster decision making, and strong alignment between business, product, engineering, security, compliance, and operations teams.
This role is critical in ensuring that engineering organizations operate with execution excellence while balancing innovation, speed, quality, and business commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Governance & Operating Model
- Define and implement governance frameworks for product engineering programs and platform initiatives.
- Establish execution cadences, review mechanisms, KPIs, and operational dashboards.
- Drive standardization of engineering processes, release governance, escalation management, and delivery controls.
- Build governance models for Agile, DevOps, release management, and product lifecycle management.
- Monitor engineering program health across timelines, risks, dependencies and quality metrics.
- Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution.
- Ensure alignment between product roadmaps, engineering commitments, and business priorities.
- Lead governance reviews for milestones, releases, production readiness, and operational stability.
- Govern large scale cross-functional initiatives involving multiple engineering and product teams.
- Create portfolio level visibility for leadership through metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Drive prioritization and dependency management across programs.
- Ensure execution predictability and resource optimization.

- Introduce best practices in program governance, Agile maturity, DevOps metrics, and operational excellence.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and delivery efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in Engineering Program Management, Product Engineering Governance, PMO, or Technology Operations.
- Strong experience managing large-scale engineering programs and cross-functional delivery organizations.
- Proven expertise in Agile delivery governance, release management, risk management, and operational excellence.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale product engineering environments.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with governance tools such as Jira, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps metrics, CI/CD governance, and cloud delivery models.
- Exposure to AI/ML product governance and platform governance models is a plus.
- Strong understanding of product engineering KPIs, reliability metrics, and operational reporting.
