What you will do
The
Head of GCC India holds
end-to-end responsibility for establishing, scaling, and operating the Global Capability Center in Mumbai. This role owns
strategy, people, delivery governance, cost, compliance, and culture, while working in a
matrix model with global functional leaders.
The role acts as the
single point of accountability for the India GCC towards global leadership and ensures the center evolves from a delivery unit into a
strategic capability hub.
GCC Strategy & Operations
- Define and execute the GCC India strategy aligned with global IT and business priorities
- Own end-to-end site operations: people, delivery governance, financials, vendors, risk and compliance
- Lead scaling and ramp-up of teams in line with multi-year staffing plans
- Establish strong operational cadence, KPIs, and governance models with global stakeholders
People Leadership & Culture
- Lead a diverse IT organization covering infrastructure, applications, development, support, and digital capabilities
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performance, and inclusive culture
- Create a positive, empowering work environment that motivates, retains, and develops top talent
- Coach team members and future leaders; build a strong local leadership bench
- Manage matrix reporting where teams have local line responsibility and offshore functional leadership
Direct & Matrix Leadership
- Overall site leadership for 30+ FTEs within the DIT‑GCC, spanning:
- Center of Excellence (CoE) SAP Solutions
- CoE Data & Analytics (D&A) – Data Operations, BI, Data Engineering, Data Science & LLMs
- CoE Business Solutions
- IT Cloud, Integration & Operations
- IT Governance / PMO / Solution Architecture
- Provide local line management leadership while teams maintain functional reporting to Global CoE / Functional Leads (“team lead only” model).
Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure supervisory adherence to:
- DIT governance frameworks
- Security, compliance, and audit requirements
- Standardized onboarding, transition, and knowledge‑handover (KHT) processes
- Act as escalation point for risk, delivery, and compliance issues within the GCC
- Ensure consistent application of GCC end‑to‑end processes (from FTE approval to post‑onboarding)
Talent, Staffing & Vendor Management
- Workforce planning, hiring strategy, and onboarding in collaboration with HR and global leaders
- Build relationships with vendors, recruitment partners, and service providers
- Manage IT budgets, procurement, and cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, security standards, and local regulations
What you will need
Relevant Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years of overall IT experience, with 5+ years in senior people leadership roles
- Proven experience setting up or scaling Global Capability Centers or large offshore teams
- Experience working in international, matrixed organizations with global stakeholders
- Strong understanding of IT operating models, governance, and delivery structures
- Demonstrated ability to lead without hands‑on technical involvement
- Experience managing remote / hybrid / multicultural teams
- Exposure to BFSI, manufacturing, technology, or global shared services environments is a plus
