Head of Finance

About the role
This is a high-ownership role where you will head finance for My Chicken & More as a true business partner to the Founder, owning everything from financial control to strategic planning.
You will be responsible for building a strong financial backbone for the business, driving planning and performance rigor, and working closely with cross-functional teams to improve unit economics, enhance profitability, and scale the business sustainably.
What makes this role exciting?
- Owning end-to-end financial reporting and accounting, ensuring books are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
- Leading preparation of financials under Ind AS (monthly & annual)
- Driving internal controls framework (ICOFR, GITC, ITAC) and ensuring adherence across processes.
- Managing internal, statutory, and tax audits end-to-end.
- Building strong SOPs and bringing discipline across finance operations.
- Acting as the technical accounting expert and primary POC for auditors, consultants, and investors.
- Leading AOP, budgeting, and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Owning and driving monthly MIS, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
- Translating numbers into clear insights and actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Building robust financial models to support scenario planning and decision-making.
- Tracking key metrics across revenue, margins, costs, and working capital.
- Partnering closely with Founder and cross-functional heads (category, supply chain, ops) to drive profitability and efficiency.
- Identifying cost optimization opportunities and margin improvement levers.
- Supporting pricing, unit economics, and investment decisions.
- Leading working capital management and cash flow optimization.
- Driving data-backed decision-making across key business initiatives.
- Leading ERP implementation and automation initiatives to improve reporting and control.
- Collaborating with tech/product teams to enhance data visibility and reporting infrastructure.
- Supporting due diligence, fundraising, and investor reporting.
- Preparing the investor decks and financial narratives.
We are looking for someone who….
- Is a qualified CA with 7+ years of experience (Big 4 + startup preferred)
- Strong foundation in controllership, financial reporting, and audits
- Proven experience in FP&A, MIS, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Ability to connect financials with business performance and strategy
- High ownership mindset with ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Strong stakeholder management, especially in a founder-driven setup
- Hands-on with Excel/Google Sheets and ERP systems
