Finance Head – Job Description
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Finance Head to lead the entire finance, accounts, and payroll functions, drive financial discipline, and support business growth. The role requires strong leadership, process improvement mindset, and hands-on execution in a fast-growing distribution and retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Take complete ownership of finance, accounts, and payroll functions
- Drive profitability, cost control, and business growth initiatives
- Provide MIS, dashboards, and actionable insights to management
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and fund planning
2. Accounting & Operations
- Oversee end-to-end accounting: AR, AP, billing, inventory, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely monthly and yearly closure of books
- Implement strong internal controls and SOPs
- Drive collections and monitor receivables
3. Payroll & Employee Compliance
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
- Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, PT, TDS on salaries
- Handle salary structuring, full & final settlements, and reimbursements
- Coordinate with HR (if applicable) for attendance, leaves, and payroll inputs
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and timely salary disbursement
4. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure timely compliance of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other statutory requirements
- Handle audits and coordinate with CA, consultants, and authorities
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance controls
5. Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead ERP implementation and optimization (Tally / Odoo)
- Automate accounting and payroll processes
- Improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead accounts and payroll team across locations
- Set KPIs, track performance, and ensure accountability
- Build and train a strong finance team
Key Requirements
- CA / MBA Finance / equivalent
- Experience in accounts + payroll management
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, payroll compliance
- ERP experience (Odoo preferred)
- Team handling experience
