About Us
At Humantic AI, our mission is to humanize the internet. Our product is at
the cutting-edge of AI, Psychology and large-scale data. We believe that
we have an opportunity (and even a responsibility) to personalize and
humanize how people interact over the internet; and an opportunity to
inspire far more trustworthy relationships online than it has ever been
possible before.
We currently focus on selling ‘buyer intelligence’ to sales teams. We
provide previously impossible insights about the buyers to our users,
which help them personalize every interaction and build trustworthy
connections that otherwise would not be possible. Gartner has listed us as
one of the only 5 Sales AI products that enterprise sales teams should
use. We are taught as part of coursework at universities like Indiana
University and Baylor University.
Our customers include enterprises like AWS, NextEra Energy and
Cushman & Wakefield; startups like Domo, AcuityMD, Gitlab and even the
sales team at the legendary Manchester United.
And we have just about started!
Key Responsibilities
You will balance hands-on architecture with high-level program
management, ensuring the team ships high-quality code on schedule.
● Build and Scale the Squad: Own the hiring strategy, interviewing,
and onboarding to scale the India-based engineering team from 7 to
15+ over the next 18 months.
● Full People Leadership: Move beyond mentorship to full
management. You are responsible for the health, happiness, and performance of the team, including appraisals, conflict resolution,
and career progression for all engineers (Junior to Senior).
● Own the Delivery Timeline: Translate product roadmaps into
executable engineering sprints. You are responsible for the 'When'
and the 'How' of delivery, running sprint planning and stand-ups to
ensure predictable velocity.
● System Architecture & Strategy: Own the system design and
architecture of Humantic AI’s full-stack applications (Frontend &
Backend). You must ensure scalability for large-scale web/data
products while delegating execution effectively.
● Cross-Functional Orchestration: Act as the bridge between
Product, Design, and Engineering. Negotiate technical debt vs.
feature development and collaborate with designers to verify
feasibility and ensure a seamless user experience.
● Operational Rigor: Implement and enforce engineering best
practices (CI/CD, QA processes, incident management) to minimize
production downtime and ensure high code quality.
● AI Leadership: Utilise your expertise to work with LLMs and our
unique 'Humantic flavoured Generative AI' personalization suite,
ensuring our tech stack remains at the cutting edge.
Requirements
What Really Matters
● Ideally, 10+ years of experience in successfully building,
deploying, and running complex, large-scale web or data products.
● Proven Management Experience: Demonstrated success
managing a team of 5+ engineers for at least 2 years (managing
timelines, performance, and hiring). You know how to transition a
team from 'startup chaos' to 'structured agility'.
● Full-stack Authority: Deep expertise with Javascript, Node.js,
MySQL, and Python. You must have world-class expertise in at least
one area but possess a solid understanding of the entire stack in a
multi-tier environment.
● Architectural Track Record: Has built at least two
professional-grade products as the tech owner/architect and led the
delivery of complex products from conception to release.
● Program Management Skills: Ability to estimate complex
projects accurately, manage stakeholder expectations, and hold the
team accountable to deadlines.
● Creative Engineering: A creative mind with an uncanny sense of
design thinking and principles.
● Values: Most importantly, the kind of values you have as a person.
What Matters Somewhat
● Experience in working with REST APIs, Machine Learning,
Algorithms & AWS.
● Familiar with visualization libraries and database technologies.
● Your reputation in the technology community within your domain.
● Your participation and success in competitive programming.
● Work on unusual/extraordinary hobby projects during school/college
that were not a part of the curriculum.
● The school that you come from and organizations where you have
worked earlier.
Personality Expectations
We believe that it takes a certain type of personality to do a certain kind
of role well.
● Thoughtful & Analytical: Unlike a sales role, this role requires
deep analytical ability and thoughtfulness. You don't just "hit goals
at any cost"; you architect sustainable solutions that prevent future
debt.
● The "Pack Leader" Mentality: You are competitive, but you
understand that your team's win is your win. You shift from getting
a dopamine hit from solving a bug yourself to getting a hit from
unblocking your team to solve ten bugs.
● High Ownership of Outcomes: You don't just care that the code
was written; you care that the feature was delivered, works for the
customer, and didn't break production. You expect very highly of
yourself and being less than ideal anywhere almost pains you.
● Resilience: You possess the mental endurance to push through
complex technical constraints and tight deadlines without losing
your cool.
● Uncompromising Values: On the other side, there is only one
thing that we care for apart from performance - your values. We
have room for mistakes on the performance side, we have no room
for mistakes on your values.
What Do We Look For?
More than anything else, we look for exceptions. And accomplishments.
Both across professional life as well as personal life.
We believe that only a few people become great later in their life. Those
who become great have usually shown some signs of greatness, big or
small, right from their early years. They probably did something great at
school, something great during college, in their community, professional
life and so on.
All of them do not have to be ‘usual’ accomplishments or exceptions.
Dropping out of college to pursue sports (or acting, or a startup) is not an
accomplishment for example, but it surely is an ‘exception’. Becoming a
national level sportsperson is an accomplishment. Becoming an
international level sportsperson is an even bigger accomplishment.
We look for such exceptional and/or accomplished people. If you don’t
have something like this in your profile, odds are that you would not get
shortlisted.
What is in it for you?
Top of line salary + sizeable equity + a world-class problem + kickass
teammates + openest culture ever
