Job Description - Engineering Head

Position Overview
Renewray Renewables Private Limited is seeking an experienced and technically strong Engineering Head to lead the company's Engineering, Design, Installation, and Technical Operations functions. The role will be responsible for ensuring efficient project design, quality execution, technical compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement across all solar projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to manage engineering teams while driving operational excellence and technical innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design Management
· Lead the engineering team in designing Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Government solar projects.
· Review and approve system designs, BOQs, SLDs, layouts, and technical documentation.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards, DISCOM requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
· Optimize system designs for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Installation & Project Execution Support
· Supervise installation teams and provide technical guidance during project execution.
· Ensure projects are executed as per approved designs and quality standards.
· Resolve technical issues arising during installation, testing, and commissioning.
· Conduct periodic site visits and technical inspections.
Research & Development (R&D)
· Explore new technologies, products, and innovations in the solar and renewable energy sector.
· Evaluate emerging market trends and recommend improvements in engineering practices.
· Drive initiatives focused on efficiency improvement, cost optimization, and technical advancement.
· Support development of new products and service offerings.
Quality & Technical Compliance
· Establish engineering quality standards and best practices.
· Ensure adherence to safety regulations, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
· Conduct technical audits and quality reviews.
· Implement corrective and preventive actions for technical issues.
Team Leadership & Development
· Lead and mentor engineers, site engineers, supervisors, and installation teams.
· Allocate resources and monitor team performance.
· Conduct technical training and skill development programs.
· Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline. Master's Degree or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- 6–12 years of experience in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, Electrical Infrastructure, Power Projects, or related industries, with at least 3 years of experience leading engineering and installation teams.
- Strong expertise in Solar PV System Design, Project Engineering, Installation Management, and Technical Execution for Commercial & Industrial (C&I), Government, and Utility-Scale Solar Projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, engineering design tools, technical documentation, BOQ preparation, and project planning.
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance, technical compliance, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
- Demonstrated ability in team leadership, resource planning, technical troubleshooting, vendor evaluation, stakeholder management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills with a proven track record of delivering projects within timelines and quality standards.
