Role Overview
The Head of E-Commerce will be responsible for driving the complete online business, including marketplaces and D2C website. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities, deep understanding of the skincare industry, and proven experience in scaling beauty/personal care brands online.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy & Revenue Ownership
- Own and drive end-to-end e-commerce P&L
- Develop and execute growth strategies aligned with brand vision
- Scale revenue across marketplaces and D2C channels
- Identify new opportunities for expansion (new platforms, global markets)
2. Marketplace Management
- Lead operations across Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, and other platforms
- Optimize listings, content, keywords, pricing, and visibility
- Ensure compliance with marketplace policies and maintain account health
- Drive platform-specific growth strategies and partnerships
3. D2C (Website) Growth
- Manage and optimize Shopify (or similar) website
- Improve conversion rates (CRO), retention, and customer journey
- Implement strategies for repeat purchase and customer lifecycle management
4. Performance Marketing
- Lead paid marketing across Amazon Ads, Meta Ads, Google Ads
- Optimize ROAS, CAC, and overall marketing spend efficiency
- Plan and execute campaigns, launches, and seasonal promotions
5. Inventory & Demand Planning
- Work closely with supply chain for forecasting and inventory planning
- Ensure product availability and minimize stockouts/overstocking
- Align inventory with marketing and sales projections
6. Team Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination
- Build, manage, and mentor the e-commerce team
- Define KRAs/KPIs and drive performance management
- Collaborate with marketing, content, operations, and finance teams
7. Data & Analytics
- Track key business metrics: revenue, conversion rate, AOV, ROAS, etc.
- Present MIS and performance reports to leadership
- Drive data-backed decision-making
