House of Chikankari is a purpose-driven brand focused on reviving and preserving the heritage art of Chikankari while empowering local artisans. We are a fast-growing D2C fashion brand with a strong emphasis on people, processes, and culture.
Role Objective
To own and scale the e-commerce business P&L across D2C website and marketplaces (Myntra, Nykaa Fashion, etc.), with strong focus on profitability, pricing discipline, inventory productivity, and campaign-led growth.
This role is accountable for profitable growth, not just topline sales.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue & Channel Growth
Own monthly and annual e-commerce revenue targets across D2C and marketplaces.
Drive balanced growth across channels while maintaining healthy revenue mix.
Plan and execute marketplace and D2C growth strategies.
2. Profitability & Margin Ownership (Highest Priority)
Own gross margin and contribution margin for the e-commerce business.
Control brand-funded vs platform-funded discounts.
Evaluate campaign-level profitability and ensure ROI-positive growth.
Prevent margin leakage across pricing, logistics, and penalties.
3. Pricing & Discount Discipline
Define and enforce monthly price locks across all platforms.
Approve all discounts, offers, and coupons.
Ensure strict price parity across D2C, Myntra, Nykaa Fashion, and other marketplaces.
Prevent unauthorized or auto-applied discounts.
4. Inventory Planning & Productivity
Work closely with planning, buying, and supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory depth.
Own inventory productivity metrics: sell-through, ageing, weeks of cover.
Plan and execute campaign allocations (SKU selection, quantities, channel split).
Drive liquidation strategies for slow-moving inventory without brand dilution.
5. Marketplace Management & Health
Manage relationships with Myntra, Nykaa Fashion, Amazon, Ajio, etc.
Track and improve marketplace scorecards, visibility, and platform ratings.
Minimise penalties, manage claims, and ensure timely recoveries.
Lead execution for major sale events and platform campaigns.
6. D2C Performance & Funnel Optimisation
Own D2C website revenue, conversion rate, AOV, and repeat purchase rate.
Improve on-site experience (PDPs, size charts, checkout flow).
Work with marketing and tech teams to improve traffic quality and conversion.
7. Operations & Customer Experience
Ensure smooth order flow and SLA adherence across channels.
Reduce returns and RTO through better inventory, content, and ops coordination.
Monitor refund timelines and customer escalations related to e-commerce.
8. Data, Reporting & Governance
Own daily, weekly, and monthly e-commerce MIS and dashboards.
Ensure accurate marketplace reconciliations and prevent revenue leakage.
Provide clear forecasts, insights, and action plans to leadership.
9. Team & Process Building
Build and manage a scalable e-commerce team (marketplaces, D2C, ops, planning).
Define SOPs, KRAs, and performance metrics.
Reduce founder dependency by driving structured decision-making.
Required Experience & Skills
10+ years of experience in apparel / fashion e-commerce.
Strong hands-on exposure to:
D2C websites (Shopify or equivalent)
Marketplaces: Myntra and Nykaa Fashion (mandatory exposure)
Deep understanding of apparel-specific challenges:
Size-wise inventory planning
High return / fit-related issues
Seasonal collections and campaign-led sales
Proven experience managing pricing, discounting, and margins.
Strong analytical and P&L ownership mindset.
Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and finance.
