Role: Design Head – Electrical / Mechanical (Gas Power Plant)
Location: Pune, India (Travel to multiple project sites required)
Salary: Up to USD 7,350/month (Gross)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Design Head – Electrical / Mechanical to lead and oversee the engineering design of a large-scale Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant (CCPP).
This role will act as the Owner’s technical authority, ensuring all electrical engineering designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and global best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Governance
Lead review and approval of all electrical design deliverables from EPC contractors and consultants
Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and lifecycle cost objectives
Act as the single-point authority for all electrical engineering matters
Plant Electrical Systems
Oversee design validation for:
Generators & transformers (GT/ST)
Auxiliary transformers & distribution systems (MV/LV)
MCCs, VFDs, UPS, DC systems, DGs
Earthing, lightning protection, and cabling systems
Review load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies
Grid & Transmission Systems
Review and approve 225 kV switchyard and power evacuation designs
Oversee transmission line design and grid interconnection compliance
Coordinate with utilities and regulatory bodies
Protection, Control & Automation
Validate protection philosophies, relay schemes, and automation systems
Ensure seamless integration between plant systems and grid
Stakeholder Coordination
Interface with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and internal teams
Manage technical deviations and design changes
Construction & Commissioning
Support construction, testing, energization, and synchronization
Approve as-built drawings and final documentation
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
18+ years of experience in power plant electrical engineering
Proven experience in Combined Cycle Gas Power Plants (CCPP)
Strong background in EPC or owner-side design review roles
Hands-on experience with 225 kV+ switchyards and transmission systems
Key Skills
Deep knowledge of power plant electrical systems & grid integration
Strong understanding of IEC / IEEE / IS / ANSI standards
Ability to drive technical optimization and design excellence
Strong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills
