ABOUT DSC PUBLIC SCHOOL
DSC Public School, Dholka, Gujarat is a forward-thinking institution committed to academic excellence and student transformation. We are launching an integrated competitive exam preparation program—a pioneering initiative to create a hybrid ecosystem where board-level education and competitive exam readiness develop in tandem.
We believe the best talent doesn't choose between excellence in school or excellence in competitive exams—they deserve both. This role will establish that reality.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
You will design, launch, and lead a fully integrated competitive exam preparation program for Grade 11 Arts & Commerce students—combining board syllabus mastery with structured preparation for UPSC CSE, GPSC, GSSSB, IBPS, and similar government exams.
Success Metrics (12–24 Months):
- Students demonstrate clear understanding of exam architecture, syllabus mapping, and long-term preparation strategy
- Discipline-driven culture: consistent study habits, test-taking discipline, and competitive mindset embedded in the batch
- Measurable exam readiness: students score in top percentiles on mains-oriented practice tests; strong foundation for Grade 12 acceleration
- Structured program ecosystem: curriculum, test series, performance tracking, and mentorship systems fully operational and scaled
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Curriculum & Program Design
Design a fully integrated curriculum that bridges the CBSE/Gujarat board syllabus with competitive exam preparation.
- Create a year-long academic roadmap: Map board topics to relevant exam frameworks (e.g., UPSC Prelims → History, Polity, Geography syllabus); identify overlap and create synergies
- Develop subject-wise preparation strategy: Assign appropriate depth/breadth for each subject (e.g., History: narrative + thematic; Economics: board + current affairs integration)
- Design study material frameworks: Create/curate comprehensive notes, topic modules, revision capsules, and concept maps aligned to both curricula
- Build foundation for long-term exams: Establish deep conceptual understanding early; position Grade 11 as the knowledge-building phase before Grade 12 intensity
B. Program Execution & Management
Take full ownership of day-to-day academic execution and systems-building.
- Design and manage daily/weekly schedules: Balance board classes with competitive prep sessions; ensure optimal time allocation and no curriculum gaps
- Build and execute test series: Create prelims-oriented (MCQ) and mains-oriented (descriptive) test frameworks; schedule, monitor, and analyze performance
- Establish performance tracking systems: Design dashboards tracking subject-wise scores, time management, concept mastery, and rank progression
- Build discipline and mentorship structures: Establish study group protocols, doubt-solving mechanisms, one-on-one mentorship, and accountability frameworks
- Create processes from zero: No pre-existing systems assumed. You will design everything—documentation, workflows, quality checks, feedback loops
C. Strategy & Growth
Drive continuous improvement and position the program for scale.
- Monitor and optimize student outcomes: Track selection rates, UPSC/GPSC attempts success metrics, board performance; identify bottlenecks and iterate curriculum/teaching
- Cultivate competitive culture: Build institutional identity around exam excellence; encourage peer learning, friendly competition, and excellence-oriented peer pressure
- Introduce exam mindset early: Teach students the long-term vision of government service, preparation cycles, and how Grade 11–12 positioning impacts their trajectory
- Plan for scalability: Document systems, standardize processes, and prepare frameworks for replication in future batches and potentially other school divisions
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Mandatory Experience
- 5–10+ years in competitive exam coaching (UPSC, GPSC, Banking, SSC, etc.) OR 5+ years in academic program leadership roles
- Proven experience designing curricula—not just teaching. You should have built study material frameworks, mapped syllabi, or architected learning ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver results—track record of launching programs, improving selection rates, or scaling educational initiatives.
Preferred
- Background in India's top-tier competitive exam coaching institutes (TIME, Career Launcher, Forum IAS, Vision IAS, etc.)
- Experience mentoring civil services or government exam aspirants in depth-based preparation
- Appeared for UPSC/GPSC yourself — strong advantage. You understand the journey, pain points, and mindset required.
- Educational background in Liberal Arts, Humanities, or related disciplines
Core Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Curriculum Architecture: Map knowledge domains, design learning sequences, integrate multiple syllabi.
- Strategic Thinking + Execution Discipline: Translate vision into month-by-month plans; deliver consistently; adapt based on data.
- Data-Driven Performance Tracking: Design dashboards, analyze trends, identify weak areas, adjust strategy in real-time.
- Deep Understanding of Student Psychology: Know what drives discipline, motivation, and long-term commitment. Understand how competitive exams demand phased preparation.
- Ownership Mentality: End-to-end responsibility. You succeed or fail based on results—not excuses.
- Communication & Influence: Articulate strategy to students, parents, school leadership. Build buy-in and collaborative culture.
WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR
- Subject teachers with no program design experience. We need architects, not content deliverers.
- Freshers or early-stage educators. This role requires seasoned judgment and proven track records.
- Theoretical planners with no execution track record. Beautiful plans without results will not move us forward.
- Candidates unwilling to take end-to-end ownership. This is a founding role. We need builders who thrive on full responsibility.
WHY THIS ROLE IS UNIQUE
- Build from Zero to Scale: This is a founding role. You will architect the entire program—from curriculum to culture—without constraints of legacy systems.
- Direct Career Impact: You're not optimizing a test score. You're shaping the next generation of UPSC CSE, GPSC, and GSSSB aspirants—professionals who will serve India in critical governance roles.
- Hybrid Model Innovation: Most schools abandon competitive prep. Most coaching institutes ignore board curriculum. You will prove both can thrive together—a rare, high-impact model.
- High Autonomy: Minimal micromanagement. You own strategy, execution, and outcomes. Success is measured by results, not compliance.
- Rare Talent Opportunity: If you've built competitive exam programs before, this is your chance to do it in an elite school environment with institutional backing and long-term growth potential.
