Role : Head - Compensation & Benefits (Domestic & International)
Location – Pune India
Reporting To – HR and Corporate Strategy & Development
Role Purpose
Lead the design, implementation, governance, and administration of Compensation & Benefits programs across domestic and international markets. The role will ensure competitive, compliant, and performance-driven reward frameworks that support business growth, talent attraction, retention, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation Strategy
- Design and manage compensation structures, salary bands, grading frameworks, and reward policies.
- Lead annual compensation review, merit increase, promotion, and bonus cycles.
- Conduct market benchmarking and compensation surveys to maintain external competitiveness.
- Drive pay equity, internal parity, and governance across organizations.
International Compensation & Mobility
- Develop and administer compensation structures for international locations and global employees.
- Manage expatriate compensation, international assignments, localization, and mobility policies.
- Evaluate tax implications, social security requirements, and cost-of-living adjustments across countries.
- Partner with global HR teams to ensure compliance with local labor and compensation regulations.
Benefits Management
- Design and optimize employee benefits programs including insurance, retirement plans, wellness, and flexible benefits.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with external benefit providers and consultants.
- Drive benefits harmonization while ensuring local market relevance.
Incentive & Variable Pay
- Design short-term and long-term incentive programs.
- Manage sales incentive plans, executive compensation, retention bonuses, and recognition programs.
- Monitor effectiveness and ROI of reward programs.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to statutory, tax, labor law, and regulatory requirements across domestic and international operations.
- Establish compensation governance, policies, approval matrices, and audit controls.
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll and rewards.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Develop compensation dashboards and reward analytics.
- Provide insights on compensation costs, workforce planning, attrition, and reward effectiveness.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and manpower planning exercises.
- Stakeholder Management
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Finance, Payroll, and Business Leaders.
- Advise leadership on compensation decisions, executive hiring, and retention strategies.
- Act as a subject matter expert on rewards and benefits.
Desired Profile
Education
- MBA / PGDM in HR, Finance, or related discipline.
- Certification in Compensation & Benefits, Global Mobility, or Total Rewards preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits / Total Rewards.
- Strong exposure to both domestic and international compensation practices.
- Experience in multinational organizations preferred.
- Prior experience in global mobility and expatriate compensation management.
