We're building something the world hasn't seen before: BreathEasy, a cancer risk monitoring platform powered by olfaction science, machine learning, and the remarkable sense of smell of trained canines. Built in India, for India and the world.
We need someone to take BreathEasy to the people who matter most (doctors, oncologists, and healthcare providers) and convince them to rethink how cancer risk is monitored. You'll lead business development in India, working closely with the founders to capture value from BreathEasy's innovation and scale it across the country.
Our product represents a genuine paradigm shift. You need to walk into rooms full of smart, skeptical clinicians who've seen a hundred pitches, and walk out with believers.
What's Hard About This Role
You're selling a category that doesn't exist yet. There's no line item in any hospital's budget for this. Doctors are trained to be skeptical, and they should be. You're pre-revenue, so you're building the sales engine, not inheriting one. The science is real but complex; you need to hold your own with oncologists. And India's healthcare system is fragmented, so what works at one chain won't work at another.
What You'll Actually Do
- Work with founders to drive BreathEasy's go-to-market strategy in India
- Own relationships with hospitals, diagnostic chains, oncology departments, and healthcare decision-makers
- Represent BreathEasy at conferences, roundtables, and in one-on-one meetings with clinical leaders
- Build and manage a pipeline from first conversation to signed partnership
- Feed market intelligence back to product and science teams: what objections you're hearing, what's resonating, what clinicians actually need
- Help shape pricing, packaging, and partnership structures
What Success Looks Like
First 90 days: You've mapped the distribution landscape, sat in on screening pilots, started conversations with 5+ prospective partners, and co-built the sales playbook with the founders.
First 6 months: 4–6 partners in active negotiation. You're generating case studies from real-world pilots and turning them into sales tools. Market intelligence is flowing back to the team and shaping decisions.
First year: 2+ signed distribution agreements with top-10 Indian healthcare providers. 5,000 tests sold. Recurrence monitoring generating repeat orders. You know how BreathEasy gets adopted in India better than anyone.

A gifted communicator, first and foremost. Not someone who talks at people, but someone who reads a room, understands what the person across the table actually cares about, and builds a bridge from their worldview to ours. You listen before you speak. When you do speak, people lean in.
Highly persuasive. You might come from debate, negotiation, consulting, or complex sales. The common thread: you know how to construct an argument, adapt it in real time, and guide a conversation toward agreement without making people feel pushed.
Emotionally intelligent to your core. You pick up on hesitation before it's spoken. You sense when someone is intrigued but not yet convinced, and you know exactly how to tip that balance.
Comfortable with complexity. Whether it's the science behind our platform or the regulatory landscape of healthcare, you engage with hard material and translate it into compelling narratives.
Energized by resistance. Doctors are a hard crowd. Lives depend on their judgment. You respect that, and you see their skepticism as an invitation to earn trust.
What Gives You an Edge (None Required)
- Experience selling complex, technical, or regulated products, especially where the buyer needed to be educated, not just convinced
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, medtech, or diagnostics
- MBA or equivalent strategic training
- Domain knowledge in oncology, clinical workflows, or health system procurement
- A network (or the ability to rapidly build one) among Indian healthcare providers
- Experience creating a market where one didn't exist
