Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth and Customer Acquisition
- Develop and execute yearly business-development plan aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Identify and acquire OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers and industrial customers in India and international markets.
- Build a qualified sales pipeline across automotive, EV, railways, defence, electrical equipment, renewable energy and engineering sectors.
- Generate RFQs through direct outreach, industry networks, vendor-development programmes, exhibitions and strategic partnerships.
- Develop relationships with procurement heads, vendor-development teams, engineering departments and senior management at target companies.
- Convert enquiries and RFQs into commercially viable purchase orders and long-term supply contracts.
- Increase share of business with existing customers through cross-selling, value engineering and new-product development.
Commercial and Technical Coordination
- Understand customer drawings, technical requirements, annual volumes, tooling requirements and quality expectations.
- Work closely with engineering, production, quality, tooling, purchase and finance teams to evaluate new opportunities.
- Coordinate product costing, feasibility studies, quotations, sample development, customer audits and commercial negotiations.
- Ensure that quotations account for raw materials, tooling, conversion costs, capacity requirements, working capital and target margins.
- Negotiate pricing, tooling recovery, payment terms, delivery commitments and annual price revisions.
- Prevent the acquisition of low-margin or operationally unsuitable business.
New Markets and Strategic Partnerships
- Develop new business in sectors including:
- Automotive and electric vehicles
- Sheet-metal and tubular assemblies
- Railways and metro systems
- Defence and aerospace supply chains
- Electrical and energy components
- Export markets
- Other precision-engineering applications
- Identify opportunities for joint ventures, technology collaborations and representation agreements.
- Develop relationships with overseas buyers, sourcing companies, export agents and technology partners.
- Evaluate new products and markets based on addressable demand, capability fit, investment requirement and expected profitability.
Sales Management and Reporting
- Create and maintain a structured CRM covering leads, RFQs, quotations, samples, customer approvals and order conversions.
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts and business-development reviews.
- Track pipeline value, conversion rate, order intake, realised sales, gross margin and customer concentration.
- Conduct regular reviews with management and the internal execution teams.
- Build and lead a business-development team as the company’s sales pipeline expands.
- Represent Chanda Enterprises at trade fairs, customer meetings, vendor-development events and industry forums.
Performance Indicators
The role will be evaluated against measurable outcomes, including:
- Value of qualified sales pipeline created
- Number and quality of new RFQs generated
- New annual business booked
- Revenue realised from new customers
- Gross contribution from new business
- RFQ-to-order conversion rate
- Number of new customers developed
- Expansion of business from existing accounts
- Improvement in customer and sector diversification
- Development of export and strategic-partnership opportunities
- Collection discipline and quality of negotiated payment terms
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering or a related discipline.
- MBA in Marketing, Strategy or International Business would be an advantage.
- Approximately 10–18 years of experience in business development, key-account management or sales within an engineering or manufacturing company.
- Demonstrated success in acquiring OEM, Tier-1 or industrial customers.
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following:
- Sheet-metal stamping
- Metal fabrication
- Tubular components
- Welding and assemblies
- Press tools and dies
- Automotive components
- Precision engineering
- Existing relationships with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, railway vendors, defence companies, electrical-equipment manufacturers or export customers will be highly valued.
- Experience handling RFQs, product costing, technical-commercial proposals and customer negotiations.
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer acquisition and relationship development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Background
Candidates currently working with automotive-component manufacturers, sheet-metal companies, fabrication businesses, Tier-1 suppliers, engineering exporters or industrial-product manufacturers will be preferred.
Experience in developing business with companies such as automotive OEMs, EV manufacturers, large Tier-1 suppliers, railway equipment manufacturers, defence companies and electrical-equipment manufacturers would be particularly relevant.
Compensation
Competitive fixed compensation, commensurate with experience, along with a performance-linked incentive based on new business booked, revenue realised, contribution margin and collection performance.
