Head of Brand & Marketing
Role Overview
We are looking for a brand builder and marketing leader to define how Skyroot shows up — to the world, to the industry, and to the people who matter most to our mission of Opening Space for All. As Head of Brand & Marketing, you will own the company's brand identity, marketing function, and public communications, leading a lean team spanning event marketing, public relations, business communications, social media, and brand — with a mandate to grow reach, sharpen positioning, and convert brand equity into tangible business outcomes. This is a brand growth role for someone who understands that a company launching rockets needs to earn its place in the public imagination — and knows how to get it there.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Own the Skyroot brand: its voice, visual identity, narrative architecture, and long-term positioning in a competitive global aerospace landscape.
- Ensure brand consistency across every touchpoint, online to offline — from a social post to a global trade show.
- Periodically audit brand health and market perception; translate findings into strategic action.
2. Marketing & Customer Communications
- Lead the marketing function in close collaboration with the business team, engaging customers across the full lifecycle of our launch business and other verticals.
- Own the event marketing calendar, ensuring the company's presence at marquee global and national events is purposeful, well-executed, and aligned with brand and business priorities.
- Develop content marketing programmes that serve both audience engagement and lead generation for the launch business and emerging verticals.
3. Public Relations & Thought Leadership
- Oversee PR strategy to ensure Skyroot earns consistent, high-quality media coverage across global and domestic outlets.
- Position leadership as credible voices in aerospace, innovation, and deep-tech through media placements, op-eds, speaking opportunities, and reputed awards.
- Lead communications around launches, partnerships, and major announcements with clarity and narrative precision.
- Own crisis communication — responding to high-stakes or sensitive situations with speed, transparency, and composure.
4. Digital Content & Social Media
- Own Skyroot's content ecosystem — website, magazine, social media, and community platforms — to ensure a consistent, high-quality brand experience across all owned channels.
- Build a pipeline of original content across formats that moves beyond media aggregation, deepens Skyroot's owned voice, and advances the brand narrative.
- Set and uphold strategy, tone, and editorial standards across platforms — championing content that bridges technical excellence with public imagination, and makes rocket science feel human and inspiring.
- Use platform analytics to guide decisions on format, cadence, and audience development.
5. Internal Communications
- Partner with HR on select internal communications initiatives that require brand or messaging alignment.
- Design and facilitate workshops to strengthen internal communication strategy and execution, with clear, outcome-driven deliverables.
6. Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Manage and mentor a lean team of brand, marketing, and PR associates.
- Oversee agency and vendor relationships, ensuring clear communications and outcomes.
- Plan for the future build-out of the team as the function scales.

- Strong brand instinct — understands the difference between visibility and positioning.
- Fluent across brand-building and marketing execution; not siloed in either.
- Exceptional storytelling and editorial judgement, with a high bar for quality.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment where priorities can shift overnight.
- Data-informed without being data-dependent — knows when to trust the numbers and when to trust the gut.
- High emotional intelligence; able to manage upward, sideways, and across functions.
