Head of Assembly
Location: Sri City, Andhra Pradesh | On-site | Full-time | Starts October 2026
About the role
We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader to head our Assembly Department at our Sri City facility. This is a senior operational role in a high-precision, regulated manufacturing environment — responsible for running and scaling medical device assembly operations end-to-end, from daily output to long-term capability building.
The Head of Assembly will own medical device production performance, team development, process stability, and quality compliance. The right person is hands-on, thrives under pressure, and leads by example on the shop floor.
Key responsibilities
Operational leadership
• Lead daily assembly operations to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
• Ensure efficient scheduling, line utilization, and shift performance
• Drive improvements in uptime, defect rates, productivity, and throughput times
Team & people management
• Lead and develop assembly technicians, supervisors, and process engineers
• Ensure strong shift coverage, technical competency, and adherence to safety and quality systems
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Process control & optimization
• Own process parameters and stability across all assembly operations
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and lead structured problem solving (root cause analysis, DOE, SPC)
• Maintain validated processes and ensure correct documentation
Equipment & tooling oversight
• Ensure assembly fixtures, jigs, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and production-ready
• Coordinate tooling repairs, preventive maintenance, and production schedule readiness
• Support commissioning of new assembly lines, automation, and tooling
Quality & compliance
• Ensure all assembly operations meet ISO 13485 and internal quality standards
• Support investigations, CAPAs, and quality improvement projects
• Maintain accurate batch records, process logs, and traceability documentation
Cross-functional collaboration
• Work closely with QA, engineering, and supply chain teams
• Support engineering builds, new product introductions, and capacity scaling
What we're looking for
Experience & qualifications
• Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering — or equivalent practical experience
• 8–10+ years in mechanical product assembly operations with direct leadership responsibility
• Experience in medical device or combination product manufacturing preferred
• Proficiency in Telugu and/or Tamil strongly preferred
Technical skills
• Deep knowledge of mechanical assembly processes — manual, semi-automated, and automated
• Strong grounding in lean manufacturing: line balancing, cycle time optimization, waste reduction
• Experience with DOE and SPC for process development and continuous improvement
• Familiarity with complex sub-assembly and finished goods in regulated environments
• Understanding of validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and structured problem-solving methodologies
Leadership & personal attributes
• Hands-on, pragmatic, strong ownership mindset
• Clear communicator with operators, peers, and senior management
• Effective decision-making under pressure and with incomplete information
• Comfortable in fast-paced, scaling environments
