About the Role
Sancta Maria School at GMR Aerocity, Hyderabad, is seeking an exceptional, high-calibre Head - Administration to lead the comprehensive non-academic operations of our upcoming state-of-the-art day and residential campus. As a foundational member of the senior leadership team, s/he will be responsible for building and managing the entire operational infrastructure that supports a world-class educational environment.
This is a pivotal leadership role. The Head - Administration ensures that every facet of the school’s physical and operational ecosystem, from residential facilities and dining to transport and statutory compliance, is planned with precision and executed to the highest standards.
While the primary reporting will be to the CEO of the Group, s/he will work in close partnership with the Head of School to ensure seamless integration of academic and non-academic functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Operations & Infrastructure Management
• Lead the planning and readiness of all school infrastructure, ensuring facilities are fully operational throughout the academic year.
• Oversee the management of residential and dining facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and high-standard living environment for students and staff on campus.
• Supervise the maintenance of all sports facilities, laboratories, and specialised learning spaces.
2. Facilities & Services Oversight
• Dining: Oversee the management of the delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and hygienic dining services for both day and residential communities.
• Transport: Ensure a safe and efficient school transport network, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and logistics optimisation.
• Security & Housekeeping: Lead the security and housekeeping departments to maintain a pristine, secure, and welcoming campus environment 24/7.
3. External Liaison & Compliance
• Act as the primary representative for the school with external government bodies and statutory authorities, except when directed otherwise.
• Manage all FRRO (Foreign Regional Registration Office) requirements for international staff and students.
• Ensure 100% compliance with all local, state, and central regulations, including but not limited to fire safety, building norms, and health and safety standards.
4. Procurement & Vendor Management
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process for school equipment & supplies.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
• Coordinate with the Services Company and other affiliates as required for the provision of all services required by the school.
5. Team Leadership
• Build, mentor, and lead an excellent administrative and support services team.
• Foster a culture of service excellence and proactive problem-solving within the administrative department.
• Create an agile organisational unit with clear chain of command and communication, alignment with the Group’s and School’s vision, mission and values, and a people-centric, process-driven, solution-oriented approach.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education: Master’s degree (preferred) in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Professional certifications in Facility Management or Hospitality are an advantage.
• Experience:
o Minimum 10 years of experience in administrative leadership, with ideally at least 5 years in a senior role within a premium international school or high-end hospitality/corporate setup.
o Proven experience in managing residential facilities or newly established projects is highly desirable.
o Demonstrated success in liaison with government and statutory authorities.
