Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional to lead our accounting and financial operations, with a defined progression path to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting, financial planning, compliance, and reporting, along with the leadership capability to transition into enterprise-level financial strategy and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and oversee the company’s entire accounting and finance function
- Contribute to long-term financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting
- Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and profitability
- Partner with senior leadership on key business decisions and investments
Accounting & Operations:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and closing processes
- Strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting processes
- Drive automation and efficiency in financial operations
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable laws
- Manage audits (internal and external) and liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulators
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks and financial policies
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives
Stakeholder Management:
- Present financial reports and insights to senior management and board members
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and HR teams
- Build relationships with banks, investors, and external partners
Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing finance team
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce (Master’s degree preferred)
- CA / CPA / CMA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and compliance
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate financial data into business insights
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
Experience:
- Extensive experience in managing end-to-end finance and accounting functions
- Exposure to financial strategy, fundraising, or investor relations is a plus
- Experience working in a fast-paced or high-growth environment preferred
