Job Summary: The Head of Accounts is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire finance function. This is a CFO track role that would eventually lead all financial operations, statutory compliance, legal and regulatory obligations of the organization. An exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the IPO / Listing process in the next couple of years.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the entire Finance function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all finance functions across the group.
• Oversee all finance operations including accounts receivable, accounts payables, billing, treasury, financial compliance etc.
• Oversee the closure of all books of accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in compliance with accounting standards.
• Provide financial MIS and analysis of business performance every month to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop, implement and oversee internal controls and internal audit function aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and legal requirements—including Income Tax, GST, Company Law, FCRA, and related legislations.
• Direct and coordinate internal, external, and statutory audits; address audit queries and drive timely closure of audit findings.
• Manage relationships and reporting with regulatory authorities, auditors, financial institutions, etc.
• Review and approve critical financial transactions, investments, contracts, and procurement proposals from both financial and legal perspectives.
• Lead ERP (Zoho) improvement initiatives, systems upgrades, and digital transformation projects across all finance functions.
• Mentor, train, and develop finance and compliance teams to foster ownership, ethical practice, and high performance.
• Support strategic initiatives, M&A, IPO and other special projects that require finance and compliance oversight.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory. Additionally, Company Secretary (CS) qualification is desirable.
• Master's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 16–18 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership and team management.
• Preference for experience in the real estate industry and Big 4 audit professionals with exposure to the real estate industry.
• Strong understanding of Indian GAAP/IFRS, taxation, audit, legal, and compliance frameworks.
• Proven experience with ERP/accounting platforms and finance automation.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills with high professional integrity and discretion.
