Role Purpose
The Head - Mentoring, Training & Placements (MTP) will design, lead and govern all initiatives related to student & faculty mentoring, capability development, industry-readiness, and placements. The role ensures that learners and faculty members are aligned with global business education standards and are equipped with competitive skills for career advancement. The position requires deep industry networks, strategic leadership, stakeholder management, and excellence in learning program design.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop the long-term strategic roadmap for mentoring, training, L&D, and placement excellence.
- Establish annual and quarterly KPIs across faculties/student upskilling, mentor engagement, and placement conversions.
- Digitizing mentoring and placement ecosystems using AI/ML-driven dashboards, automated MIS reporting, and integrated LMS workflows.
- Lead a high-performing team of training managers, placement officers, industry mentors, and faculty coordinators.
- Build strategic collaborations with industry bodies, sector councils, and global institutions.
2. Mentoring Program Management (Students & Faculty)
Student Mentoring
- Design structured mentoring frameworks (career mentoring, technical mentoring, soft skills development).
- Identify, onboard, and manage internal and external mentors.
- Monitor mentor-mentee progress and ensure measurable outcomes.
- Conduct periodic feedback and impact assessment.
Faculty Mentoring
- Create faculty development mentoring frameworks aligned with research output, teaching quality, industry relevance, and pedagogy innovation.
- Introduce peer‑mentoring, external academic mentors, and corporate subject-matter mentors.
- Track faculty development KPIs across teaching effectiveness, certifications, industry projects, and publications.
- Ensure measurable improvements in employability, professional behaviour, and academic performance.
3. Training & Skill Development
- Identify and benchmark core competencies for high-impact roles across IT, ITeS (IT-enabled services), Product Development, Core Engineering, Analytics, and General Management
- Oversee curriculum alignment with emerging skills (AI, analytics, sustainability, digital transformation, etc.).
- Implement structured learning interventions:
- Soft skills & communication programs
- Corporate readiness modules
- Domain-specific masterclasses
- Mock interviews, case prep bootcamps, GD-PI sessions
- Evaluate training ROI through assessments, placement outcomes, and competency score improvements.
- Manage partnerships with EdTechs, certifying bodies, and training vendors.
4. Corporate Relations & Placements
- Build and deepen relationships with CXOs, CHROs, hiring managers, and alumni leaders.
- Identify national & global placement opportunities (final placements, summer internships, live projects).
- Manage end-to-end placement lifecycle: outreach → screening → interview coordination → offer closure.
- Expand recruiter base through continuous market mapping and sector diversification.
- Drive placement branding through recruiter events, corporate conclaves, industry roundtables, and alumni engagement.
- Ensure annual placement year-on-year targets are achieved with a high-quality role mix and compensation benchmarks.
5. Faculty–Industry Collaboration
- Facilitate faculty consulting assignments, MDPs, FDPs, and industry immersion programs.
- Strengthen academia–industry linkages for curriculum co-creation, visiting faculty programs, and industry research collaborations.
- Coordinate with faculty to ensure training content aligns with recruiter expectations
6. Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and auditable placement & mentoring records.
- Publish quarterly and annual reports on placement trends, compensation analytics, learning outcomes, and recruiter satisfaction.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with AICTE, NBA, NIRF and NAAC (as applicable).
- Implement dashboards for real-time tracking of mentoring, training, and placement metrics.
