The Head – Manufacturing is responsible for leading and managing end‑to‑end manufacturing operations for automotive rubber hose products. The role ensures achievement of production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement while aligning manufacturing strategy with business goals and OEM customer requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Operations
- Lead complete manufacturing operations including mixing, extrusion, braiding, curing/autoclave, assembly, and finishing of rubber hoses.
- Ensure achievement of production volume, quality, delivery, and cost (PQCD) targets.
- Plan and optimize manpower, machines, materials, and methods for efficient operations.
- Drive adherence to daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with automotive OEM standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
- Maintain high First‑Time‑Right (FTR) and reduce rejection, scrap, and rework.
- Handle OEM audits, customer inspections, and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations.
Process Improvement & Cost Reduction
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Reduce conversion cost, cycle time, wastage, energy consumption, and downtime.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA implementation, and process optimization.
- Benchmark best practices in rubber and automotive manufacturing.
New Product & Capacity Development
- Support new product development (NPD) and new project launches.
- Lead capacity expansion, layout improvement, and new machinery installation.
- Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams for smooth project execution.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing teams including production, shift managers, engineers, and supervisors.
- Build a performance‑driven, safety‑focused, and continuous improvement culture.
- Ensure skill development, training, succession planning, and workforce engagement.
Maintenance & Safety
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines, molds, dies, and utilities.
- Maintain high safety standards and zero‑accident culture across the plant.
- Ensure availability and reliability of critical equipment.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Polymer / Chemical Engineering
- Postgraduate qualifications (M.Tech, MBA Operations) – Preferred
Experience
- 15–20+ years of experience in rubber manufacturing
- Minimum 5–7 years in a senior manufacturing / plant leadership role
- Mandatory experience in automotive rubber hoses or rubber automotive components
