Role Description The Head – Finance & Accounts is a full-time, on-site role based in India, responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations for SM Developers. This role includes managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. The individual will supervise the finance and accounts team, implement robust internal controls, monitor project-wise financial performance, and support strategic decision-making for ongoing and upcoming developments. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing ledgers, approving payments, coordinating audits, optimizing working capital, and providing regular financial insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and project cost control.
- Expertise in accounting operations such as general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, and finalization of accounts.
- Solid understanding of taxation, regulatory compliance, and statutory reporting relevant to real estate and hospitality sectors in India.
- Proficiency with financial software and ERP/accounting systems, along with strong MS Excel and analytical skills.
- Experience leading and mentoring finance and accounts teams, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project, operations, and senior management stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) are highly preferred.
- Prior experience in real estate development, construction, or hospitality projects will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with high standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
