Job details:
Head of Design Studio
Role: Head of Design Studio
Reports to: Executive Director & CTO
Location: Venus Remedies, Panchkula (on-site)
Team: Multimedia Section + Product Design Section
Why This Role Exists
Design isn't decoration here. It's a way of seeing — of questioning the problem before chasing the solution, of understanding what sits underneath a brief, and of curating something that carries meaning, not just polish.
The Design Studio is how Venus speaks to the world: to doctors through our literature, to the market through our brand, and now to our own people through the software we are choosing to build in-house. We have a team that is driven and dedicated. What we're looking for is the person who raises its taste — who makes the work land beautifully the first time, and who turns AI into a real creative multiplier.
This is a role for a designer who sees the world as a canvas.
What You'll Lead
1 · Multimedia — your primary focus
Doctor-facing communication (CMEs, LBLs, brochures, leaflets, posters, presentations) and Venus's brand on social media (reels, carousels, videos, campaigns). It extends to our in-house events — backdrops, posters, standees, stage design — and to event coverage and professional shoots through our in-house photography, camera, and recording studio. Your mandate: sharper thinking upfront, fewer iterations, work that connects on the first pass.
2 · Digital & Product Design — the new frontier
As Venus builds software in-house, the interfaces, the design system, and the unified Venus visual language live here. You'll own the website end-to-end and bring an AI-first approach to designing and evolving our digital products — all under one coherent brand.
3 · Product Design (artwork) — light stewardship
Our country-specific product artworks across 100+ markets are a mature, well-run, spec-driven engine. You protect its standards and stay informed. You don't need to re-engineer it.
4 · AI-first creative culture
The team has the tools but not yet the narrative. You set the standard for using AI to explore, generate, and refine — making it an accelerator of great work, never an excuse for average work.
What You'll Own
- Set and defend the creative bar for everything the studio produces.
- Coach the team to find the real problem beneath each request before they design.
- Personally make flagship work — you lead by doing, not just directing.
- Translate vague briefs from Marketing and internal customers into beautiful, on-point outputs.
- Build and maintain a unified Venus design system across literature, brand, and software.
- Own the Venus website and the UI of in-house software, with an AI-first workflow.
- Grow the existing team's instincts and ambition — raise both the floor and the ceiling.
Who You Are
A designer with a point of view. You question, you doubt, you curate things that are both purposeful and genuinely beautiful. Taste is your instrument.
Equal parts creative director and digital craftsperson. You can direct brand and storytelling and design real interfaces, systems, and web.
Hands-on. You still make the work. Your own output sets the standard.
AI-native. You already use AI to explore and accelerate, and you can teach a team to do the same with intent.
Portfolio over years. We aren't counting years — your work tells us who you are. We welcome strong, relatively early-career talent as readily as seasoned leaders — as long as the book, the thinking, and at least some experience leading or guiding a team are there.
Pharma or regulated-industry experience is a plus, not a requirement. What's non-negotiable is taste, range, and the drive to elevate.
Qualifications
- Design education. A degree or professional qualification in design, or equivalent demonstrable formal training in the craft.
- Design experience. A real body of design work spanning brand/visual and digital surfaces — depth you can show, not just describe.
- Leadership exposure. Prior experience managing, grooming, or guiding a team, even at a modest scale. This is a department to be led, not only a craft to be practised — a purely individual creative with no people or administrative experience won't be able to run it.
- AI-first workflow. You design with AI — using it to explore, generate, and refine — and you own your creative process rather than leaning on any single tool.
- Command of standard design tools. Fluency in the industry's core software is expected — the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and CorelDraw, which our Product Design section runs on. No single tool is a hard requirement, though: what matters is craft and outcome, not the brand of software.
How We'll Evaluate
1 · Portfolio review (first gate). Every candidate shares a portfolio ahead of the interview. We study the nature, range, and craft of the work — brand and digital — before we meet. No portfolio, no interview.
2 · Interview. A conversation about how you think, how you question a problem, and how you'd lift this studio — held with your portfolio open in front of us.
Design can happen anywhere, in anything. We're looking for the person who believes that as deeply as we do — and can make Venus look and feel like it.
