Orion Educational Society (OES) is looking for an experienced, hands-on communications leader to
head its Communications, Knowledge & Strategy function. OES needs someone who will personally
write, edit, and create the bulk of its content — annual reports, brochures, proposals, case studies, and
reports — rather than primarily delegating or outsourcing this work. This is a doer-leader role: the
person will be the organisation's main writer and content creator, while also guiding the existing content
and digital team members and ensuring all OES communication and design output is of high, consistent
quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Communications & Leadership: Own and drive OES's overall communication and
content strategy; report directly to the President and partner closely with the CEO on
organisational positioning, messaging, and thought leadership.
2. Hands-On Content Development: Personally write and produce annual reports, brochures,
corporate presentations, impact reports, case studies, newsletters, website content, leadership

remaining closely involved in the writing and final output.
3. Project & Programme Reporting: Personally draft high-quality project reports, donor reports,
and impact documentation, working with programme teams to translate field data into compelling
narratives.
4. Proposal & Donor Communication: Lead the development of concept notes, donor proposals,
and donor-facing presentations in close coordination with the Partnerships team; ensure
consistently high-quality, persuasive documentation that supports fundraising.
5. Research & Knowledge Management: Drive research on CSR trends, government schemes,
skilling, education, healthcare, AI, and workforce development; build organisational knowledge
repositories, SOPs, and best-practice documentation.
6. Digital Communications: Oversee website and social media strategy and content, working with
the Digital Communications Executive to plan and execute digital communication calendars and
campaigns.
7. Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, mentor, and build the capability of the Content Executive,
Digital Communications Executive, Graphic Designer, and Research & Proposal Associate;
manage relationships with external agencies and consultants; raise the overall quality bar of the
