Key responsibilities:
- Handle daily pastry production — cookies, desserts, and other menu items with consistency and quality
- Assist in menu planning and seasonal menu development
- Work on R&D (recipe trials, testing, scaling recipes for production)
- Ensure standardization of recipes, measurements, and processes
- Maintain quality control across batches and orders
- Manage kitchen prep, mise en place, and production timelines
- Oversee inventory usage, ingredient planning, and minimize wastage
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards at all times
- Assist in packaging, dispatch, and order readiness when required
- Collaborate closely with the founders on new launches and product ideas
Requirements:
- Prior experience in pastry kitchens / bakeries / dessert studios
- Formal training from a pastry school or hotel management institute preferred
- Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on consistency and presentation
- Basic knowledge of costing and portioning is a plus
- Someone who is proactive, reliable, and takes ownership
- Candidates residing in Mumbai or near by South Mumbai areas are preferred
