Role Description The Head Chef role at Prime Food and Beverage Private Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Kolkata. The Head Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and plating, ensuring dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards. This role includes managing and training kitchen staff, assigning tasks, monitoring workflow, and fostering a safe, efficient, and hygienic work environment. The Head Chef will be responsible for inventory control, vendor coordination, and cost management, including portion control and waste reduction. The position also involves collaborating with management on new menu concepts, seasonal offerings, and special events, while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills, including expertise in cooking techniques, menu planning, and food presentation.
- Experience leading kitchen teams, with abilities in staff supervision, training, and performance management.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen health and safety regulations.
- Abilities in inventory management, cost control, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with management and front-of-house teams.
- Prior experience as a Head Chef or senior chef in a restaurant, hotel, or similar establishment.
- Culinary degree, diploma, or equivalent professional training is preferred.
