Role Description The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to ensure high-quality dishes are served consistently. This full-time, on-site role in Tehri involves supervising kitchen staff, organizing workstations, managing inventory, and maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards. The Head Chef will coordinate with management to create seasonal menus, control food costs, and ensure timely service during peak hours. Daily tasks include training and mentoring the kitchen team, checking ingredients for freshness, monitoring cooking processes, and collaborating with front-of-house staff to deliver a positive guest experience.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills, including knowledge of cooking techniques, menu development, and food presentation.
- Experience managing kitchen operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and workflow organization.
- Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance in a commercial kitchen.
- Ability to manage inventory, control food costs, and work efficiently within budget guidelines.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to guide a diverse team and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a restaurant or café setting is strongly preferred.
- Culinary certification or diploma from a recognized institution is an advantage, though equivalent practical experience is valued.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and ability to stand for extended periods.
