Responsibilities
Job Scope:
The Head of Business Development is responsible for leading the growth strategy and execution for the Warehousing and Transport sectors for the North Region. This role focuses on driving business development initiatives, capturing new market opportunities, and enhancing the overall value proposition of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth in the E&M/ Auto sectors.
- Target, identify, and assess potential customers, creating compelling business fit presentations that align with DSC’s capabilities.
- Present innovative solutions to customers, demonstrating clear business value and engaging in negotiations to close deals successfully.
- Manage and develop a robust customer pipeline of transformational deals across chosen sectors.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of tender proposals and sales presentations to both existing and prospective accounts.
- Support and enhance warehouse and transport customer activities throughout India.
- Drive commercial propositions to maximize value for both the Warehousing and Transport departments.
- Provide constructive feedback and strategic insights to the leadership team to foster continued growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with Regional BD Transport and Regional Operations Directors to enhance capabilities and service offerings across markets.
- Support cross-regional and global development initiatives to align with the overall business strategy.
- Coordinate with cross-business development support functions such as marketing and bid management to ensure cohesive strategies.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for collaboration with other Group Companies to enhance service offerings.
- Develop a clear Integrated Business Plan (IBP) for the Warehousing and Transport business and support the IBP development across the transport sector.
- Manage the professional pursuit, proposal, and delivery of new business projects through to successful implementation.
- Drive the “where next” agenda by conducting market research and leveraging sector knowledge to identify growth opportunities.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 12years of experience in the Transport & Logistics Industry, with a proven track record in business development and strategic growth initiatives.
Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing in related field.
Skills and Competencies:
- Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Management, with a focus on transport and warehousing.
- Strong strategic and visionary skills to drive business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a matrix management environment.
- Ability to influence senior management and stakeholders effectively.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills to secure favourable outcomes.

- Knowledge of sector customer trends and needs to identify opportunities.

- Proficiency in account management and project management tools.
- Strong relationship management skills with an empathetic approach.
- Understanding of organizational commercial/contractual and risk management parameters.
