Role Description The Head Barista is a full-time, on-site role based at Big Belly Burger in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This role oversees the beverage program, including preparation of coffee-based and other specialty drinks that complement the burger menu, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and presentation. The Head Barista leads and trains barista staff, manages daily station operations, monitors inventory and ordering of beverages and related supplies, and maintains cleanliness and safety standards at the beverage counter. This position collaborates with store management to optimize workflows during peak hours, supports promotional drink launches, and helps deliver a welcoming, efficient guest experience. The Head Barista is also responsible for handling guest feedback related to beverages and ensuring adherence to brand recipes and SOPs.
Qualifications
- Strong barista skills, including hands-on experience with espresso machines, coffee brewing methods, and preparation of specialty beverages.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and supervise a small team in a fast-paced QSR or café environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and basic inventory management for beverage operations.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage guests, manage queues, and handle feedback professionally.
- Attention to detail in drink consistency, taste, presentation, and station cleanliness.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Prior experience as a senior barista, beverage lead, or similar role; QSR or franchise experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak periods, and to stand for extended durations.
- Basic numerical and record-keeping skills to support stock control and reporting.
- Certification or training in hospitality, food & beverage service, or café operations is preferred but not mandatory.
