Role: Head –Accounts
Job Summary - The Accounts Head is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting function of the group of companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, effective financial controls, and strategic financial planning. This role leads the accounts team and works closely with senior management to support business decisions.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
•Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure books of accounts are updated incompliance with Indian GAAP and Ind AS for all group entities.
•Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts across the group.
•Prepare, review, and finalize standalone financial statements.
•Supervise accounting of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
•Ensure timely bank, vendor, customer, and inter-company reconciliations, with regularreview of receivables and payables.
Audit & Compliance
•Coordinate and finalize statutory, internal, and tax audits for all group companies.
•Review audit observations and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
•Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST laws, and other applicableregulatory requirements.
•Coordinate with Company Secretary / consultants and ensure timely filing of MCA forms andstatutory returns.
Taxation (Direct & Indirect)
•Lead complete direct tax function, including accurate computation of income tax liability,advance tax, and optimization to minimize interest exposure.
•Ensure correct TDS deduction, timely payment, and filing of quarterly TDS returns.
•Oversee GST compliance, including filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 & 9C.
•Perform monthly GST reconciliations (GSTR-2A/2B vs books), vendor compliance checks, andITC eligibility reviews.
•Review GST provisions and ensure compliance with ITC restrictions and eligibility norms.
MIS, Budgeting & Financial Planning
•Prepare and present monthly MIS reports, including debtors ageing, cash flow, and financialperformance.
•Lead annual budgeting and conduct monthly financial reviews with management.
•Support management in financial planning, cash flow forecasting, fund management, andstrategic decision-making.
Treasury & Banking
•Coordinate with bankers for funding arrangements and bank guarantees (Advance BG,Performance BG, Retention BG, etc.).
•Authorise vendor payments and ensure adherence to internal control frameworks.
Payroll & Employee Taxation
•Manage the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
•Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, MLWF, and payroll-related TDS filings.
•Handle employee tax calculations, issue Form 16, and guide employees on personal taxation matters.
Team Leadership
•Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts and finance team
•Allocate work, set targets, and review performance
•Ensure continuous improvement of team efficiency and skills
Systems & ERP
•Coordinate with ERP (SAP) consultants, resolve system-related queries, and ensure smoothaccounting and reporting processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
•Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA / MBA (Finance) or equivalentExperience
•5-10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience•Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role
Skills & Competencies
•Strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation laws
•Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
•Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
•High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
