POSITION SUMMARY
Support the day-to-day operations of the HDS Foundation and will be responsible for supporting grantmaking activities, oral health initiatives, scholarship and loan repayment programs, Coalition and community outreach activities, and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grant Administration: Responsible for administering the grant application process, including assisting grantees with online submissions and reports; maintaining the grants management system by creating forms and tracking reports; reviewing grant applications and preparing materials for board meetings.
- Outreach and Networking: Plan, coordinate and attend events such as scholarship receptions, community fairs, school/community outreach, Kupuna Smiles trainings and other outreach activities.
- Oral Health Initiatives: Collaborate with and support HDS Foundation Team on oral health initiatives including Kupuna Smiles, Dentist by One, Sealants in Schools and Smile Makers.
- Marketing: Drafts and designs content for HDSF e-newsletters, flyers, presentation slides, public website, social media posts and the company intranet site and other marketing efforts.
- Coordinates distribution of oral health kits to schools and non-profit organizations statewide, attends Hawaii Oral Health Coalition monthly meetings, performs administrative duties related to grants administration, oral health initiatives, scholarship and loan repayment programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Services, or Public Health required or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of administrative or related experience preferred.
- Oral health-related experience preferred.
- Philanthropic experience a plus.
- • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with a wide range of individuals including in the community setting.
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent proficiency with applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher).
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize with some distractions and attention to details.
- Ability to think strategically and to develop tactics based on that strategy.
- Ability to work with cross-functional/departmental and community-based teams
- Ability to communicate in small and large groups to a variety of audiences.
Other
- Requires occasional travel to various sites, off island as well.
- Access to transportation vehicle to travel to site visits and outreach efforts required.
