Title of Position: INTERNSHIP TEACHER
DISCOVERY CLUB/ACCESS 21 STAND ALONE PROGRAM
Work Year: July 6, 2026 - July 30, 2025
Monday - Thursday
7:30 am to 12:15 pm - Nettle Middle School OR
8:45 am to 1:15 pm - Haverhill High School
Trainings in June - Dates TBD
Work Location: Haverhill High School
Salary: $40.00/hr (if for any reason the candidate selected does not complete the appointment, compensation will be prorated based upon time served)

Statement of Duties:
- Plan Internship and Career Development class and submit planning documents for the summer session.
- Teach the internship class for summer interns.
- Use appropriate practices, including tiered instruction and scaffolds, to accommodate differences in learning styles, needs, interests, and levels of readiness, including those of students with disabilities and Multilingual Learners.
- Incorporate Social and Emotional practice in daily activities to create learning experiences that guide students to identify their strengths, interests, and needs; ask for support when appropriate; take academic risks; and challenge themselves to learn.
- Develop students’ interpersonal, group, and communication skills and provide opportunities for students to learn in groups with diverse peers.
- Clearly communicate and consistently enforce specific standards for student work, effort, and behavior.
- Supervise up to 20 students in your classroom.
- Complete and Submit a Pre and Post Survey of Academic and Youth Outcomes (SAYO) survey for each student in the class.
- Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
- Responsible for other duties as indicated by directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education – Required
- Experience teaching internship students and career development education - Required
- Experience in Discovery Club or Access 21 – Preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
