Hardware Design Engineer (Energy Systems)
FIZIX Innovation Labs (Fizix Solar Innovations) – Chennai
About Us
FIZIX Innovation Labs is a technology research and product development lab based in Chennai developing next-generation energy electronics and power delivery systems.
Our work is closely associated with Switching Battery, where foundational research and intellectual property are developed. Together our founder and inventor holds 7 granted U.S. patents in advanced battery architectures, power delivery systems, and renewable energy electronics.
Most modern electronics rely on external clock timing and software-driven control. Our research explores a different approach: hardware architectures that internalize timing within the circuit itself, allowing systems to respond dynamically to real electrical conditions rather than relying solely on external clock signals.
This approach enables new possibilities in:
- ·advanced battery systems
- ·solar-native electronics
- hardware-native intelligence
- ·ultra-efficient power delivery systems
We are a small, fast-moving engineering team building real hardware that challenges conventional assumptions in power electronics. If you enjoy designing circuits, experimenting with prototypes, and solving unconventional engineering problems, you will feel at home here.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Hardware Design Engineer who enjoys building and experimenting with real electronics systems. You will design; prototype, test, and debug hardware used in our patented energy technologies. This is a practical engineering role where you will work with circuits, prototypes, and working systems rather than purely theoretical design.
What You’ll Be Building
You may work on systems involving:
- battery and hardware architectures
- renewable energy electronics
- power delivery circuits
- solar charging systems
Core Skills
You should have working experience with:
- KiCad design software
- PCB schematic design and layout
- BOM preparation and Gerber generation
- DRC and DFM checks
- hardware debugging and circuit troubleshooting
- Hands-on prototyping experience is highly valued.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2–5 years experience in hardware design or electronics development
- strong problem-solving mindset
- comfortable working in a fast experimental environment
Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for engineers who:
- enjoy designing and building real circuits
- like solving unconventional engineering problems
- prefer hands-on engineering over corporate bureaucracy
- want to explore new architectures in energy electronics
Curious engineers who enjoy experimenting and challenging conventional power electronics designs are especially encouraged to apply.
Show Us What You Can Build
- Instead of sending a long résumé, show us something you have built.
- Send us one example of a hardware project you designed or prototyped — PCB, circuit, device, or experimental system.
- GitHub links, schematics, photos, or videos are welcome.
Location: Porur, Chennai
Start: Immediate
Join us if you want to build new hardware architectures for the future of energy systems.
