Position: Hardware Board Design and PCB Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a Hardware Board Design and PCB Engineer with experience across the complete product-development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout coordination, fabrication, assembly, board bring-up, validation and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand product requirements and prepare hardware architecture and design specifications.
- Perform feasibility analysis, component selection, design calculations and circuit simulation where required.
- Develop complete schematics for processors, memories, power supplies, analog circuits, digital interfaces and peripherals.
- Prepare and maintain the Bill of Materials, approved alternates, component lifecycle status and cost targets.
- Create or review PCB placement, routing, stack-up, controlled-impedance, grounding and power-distribution requirements.
- Generate and review Gerber, drill, fabrication, assembly, pick-and-place and manufacturing documentation.
- Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors and resolve manufacturing queries.
- Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, debugging, failure analysis and root-cause investigation.
- Work with firmware and software teams during system integration and product validation.
- Conduct signal-integrity, power-integrity, thermal, reliability and component-derating reviews.
- Support EMI/EMC debugging, pre-compliance testing and certification activities.
- Support DFM, DFA, DFT, prototype-to-production transition, component obsolescence and field issues.
Required Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in embedded hardware, board design or PCB development.
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, mixed-signal and power-supply circuit design.
- Experience with microcontrollers, processors, SoCs, FPGAs, memories, sensors and communication devices.
- Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, CAN, RS-232, RS-485, PCIe, SDIO and related interfaces.
- Experience with schematic-capture and PCB tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Mentor or equivalent.
- Understanding of multilayer PCB design, differential routing, impedance control, grounding, shielding and return-current paths.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, protocol analyzers and power analyzers.
- Good understanding of EMI/EMC, ESD, surge protection, environmental requirements and design for reliability.
- Ability to prepare design documents, test plans, verification reports and manufacturing release packages.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial, automotive, defence, telecom, consumer or medical products.
- Exposure to high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, USB 3.x, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI or MIPI.
- Experience with signal-integrity or power-integrity tools and environmental qualification testing.
