Our Company is an engineering-focused technology company delivering industrial software, embedded systems, mobile applications, and cloud platforms.
We work with global OEMs in fire & life safety, building technologies (BMS), and industrial IoT, building real-world, production-grade products. Our teams collaborate across firmware, hardware, UI/UX, mobile, web, and cloud, offering true end-to-end product exposure. At EMCUS, we value engineering depth, ownership, and long-term growth, not just delivery.
We operate from Bangalore, India, serving customers across Europe, the UK, North America, and the Middle East.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to join our core engineering team. The primary focus of this role is to design and develop hardware with complete ownership of schematics, library creation, layout, and releasing the fabrication package.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a good understanding of real-world users, and the ability to work closely with engineers.
Candidates interested in owning the complete hardware design and full HW development lifecycle will have an added advantage.
We are looking for a serious, long-term committed professional who intends to grow with the organization and take sustained ownership of embedded hardware designs.
- Job Responsibilities Design complete embedded hardware systems (MCU/MPU, power supplies, analog front ends, industrial interfaces).
- Develop structured multi-sheet schematics using industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro, Altium).
- Design multi-layer PCBs with proper stack-up, impedance control, grounding, and EMI/EMC practices.
- Implement high-speed and industrial interfaces (USB, Ethernet, CAN, RS-485, SPI, etc.).
- Perform component selection considering performance, cost, and lifecycle.
- Generate fabrication and assembly outputs and ensure DFM/DFA/DFT compliance.
- Create and maintain schematic symbols, footprints, and managed libraries.
- Support prototype bring-up, debugging, validation, and cross-functional integration.
- Maintain accurate BOMs and participate in design reviews to minimize re-spins.
- Help resolve technical queries from PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.
- Analyze engineering design schematics and supporting documents to plan PCB layout.
- Strong knowledge in PCB layout and panelization.
- Required SkillsBE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in PCB Layout Engineering.
- Proficient in schematics and PCB layout design using EDA tools such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro, or Altium.
- Strong expertise in analog and digital electronics with experience in embedded microcontrollers (STM32, NXP, TI, etc.).
- High accountability, technical rigor, and long-term professional commitment.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging hardware components.
- Experience in library creation as per IPC standards.
- Good knowledge of Constraint Manager.
- Expertise in DFx concepts (DFM/DFA/DFT) and tools such as Valor / CAM350 preferred.
- Technical expertise in analog, wireless, and power supply designs.
- Familiarity with high-end processor-based motherboard design, DDR memory interfaces, and Ethernet interfaces.
- Experience with multi-layer PCB design including blind/buried and micro vias.
- Knowledge of electronics design and manufacturing methods.
