About Kreo
Kreo builds creator and productivity hardware across keyboards, mice, audio gear, and desk tools. We’re now building a new category of AI interaction devices: small physical products that make working with AI faster, more natural, and less trapped inside screens.
Think push-to-talk AI microphones, wireless input devices, programmable controls, and hardware that turns voice, touch, buttons, and gestures into instant software actions.
Role
We’re looking for someone who can own hardware and firmware end-to-end: from concept and architecture to PCB, bring-up, embedded firmware, EVT/DVT, supplier coordination, and production readiness.
You’ll work closely with product, industrial design, mechanical, software, and manufacturing partners to ship reliable consumer hardware, not just prototypes.
What You’ll Work On
- Push-to-talk AI mic / transcription hardware
- Wireless input and control devices
- USB HID and USB audio workflows
- BLE / 2.4 GHz device architecture
- Battery-powered, low-latency consumer devices
- Firmware that connects physical hardware to real user workflows
Responsibilities
- Own schematic review, PCB design direction, component selection, and board bring-up
- Develop and debug embedded firmware for wireless, USB, audio, buttons, LEDs, battery, and power states
- Validate prototypes across RF, audio, latency, battery life, charging, reliability, and usability
- Work with suppliers/CMs on samples, DFM, test fixtures, production issues, and quality checks
- Create bring-up plans, test plans, risk lists, and hardware/firmware documentation
- Drive hardware from prototype to EVT/DVT/PVT and production readiness
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building real consumer hardware products
- Strong PCB, electronics, debugging, and component selection fundamentals
- Embedded firmware experience in C/C++ or similar
- Experience with BLE, 2.4 GHz, Wi-Fi, or other wireless systems
- Familiarity with USB HID, USB audio, MEMS microphones, batteries, charging, and low-power systems
- Ability to debug across hardware, firmware, RF, audio, and manufacturing issues
- Experience working with suppliers, vendors, or contract manufacturers
Bonus
- Experience with microphones, wearables, dongles, keyboards, macropads, creator tools, or productivity hardware
- Experience taking a product through EVT, DVT, PVT, or mass production
- Experience with RF certification, audio testing, factory test fixtures, or consumer electronics compliance
