Position Summary: The Staff Engineer drives the design, development, and optimization of a best-in-class ecommerce platform, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and performance. This role serves as a technical leader, combining deep expertise in front-end and back-end technologies with strategic vision to meet business goals. This position collaborates cross-functionally, mentors engineering teams, and implements innovative solutions that elevate customer experiences while aligning with organizational objectives. Essential Duties: Technical Leadership & Strategy - Implement reliable, scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for front-end and back-end systems. Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for enterprise-level digital transformation projects. Ensure platform uptime and optimize system performance through proactive monitoring and incident response practices. Evaluate emerging technologies and tools, recommending innovative solutions to drive business success. Development & Optimization - Design, code, test, debug, and maintain features, APIs, and third-party integrations. Build reusable front-end components and robust back-end infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance across devices. Continuously improve platform performance, scalability, and security using industry best practices. Ensure adherence to web accessibility (ADA), security, and privacy standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with stakeholders across product, marketing, merchandising, and IT to align technical solutions with business objectives. Facilitate requirements gathering, translating business needs into technical specifications. Lead strategic planning and roadmap discussions for platform enhancements. Team Leadership & Mentorship - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering growth and best practices. Lead and participate in code reviews and design reviews, fostering a culture of quality and collaboration across development teams. Lead DevOps and release management initiatives, ensuring seamless deployments and communication. Problem Solving & Innovation - Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement proactive solutions to maintain platform reliability. Introduce and test emerging eCommerce trends and innovations to enhance user engagement and drive revenue. Project Management - Guide sprint planning, prioritization, and backlog grooming to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility. Partner with stakeholders to align project scope and timelines with strategic priorities. Support seasonal refreshes, promotions, and new feature rollouts.
