Hankook Tyre UK has promoted Jon Cottrell to TBR Operations and Network Manager. The appointment expands his responsibilities beyond truck and bus tyre sales to include operational oversight, dealer network development and fleet support services. His remit will cover the Hankook Truck Masters programme and tools intended to support commercial vehicle operators.
A wider operational remit
Cottrell previously served as UK Sales Manager for Hankook’s truck and bus tyre business. He joined the company in December 2020 after more than 20 years in the tyre industry.
His earlier roles included positions with Bridgestone, Goodyear Dunlop, Mitas and Apollo Vredestein. Hankook initially appointed him to lead its UK commercial sales department and develop its truck and bus offering.
In the new position, Cottrell will support and develop the Hankook Truck Masters network. The programme connects the manufacturer with commercial tyre service providers serving fleet customers.
Hankook said the promotion extends his remit across TBR operations, network development and fleet-facing support. This includes services intended to improve product access and aftersales support.
Greater focus on fleet services
Cottrell will also oversee fleet support solutions, including digital services and warranty programmes. One example is Laufenn365, Hankook’s platform for processing accidental damage claims on eligible Laufenn truck tyres.
Tyre News previously covered the introduction of Laufenn365 and Hankook’s commercial tyre range at RTX 2025. The platform was presented as a way to simplify claims and provide greater cost certainty for operators.
The expanded role comes as commercial tyre manufacturers place greater emphasis on whole-life operating costs. Tyre selection, maintenance support, casing management and warranty administration can all affect fleet expenditure.
Hankook has linked its 2026 UK truck tyre priorities with closer fleet engagement and stronger service capacity. Cottrell previously said the company was taking total cost of ownership discussions directly to fleet depots in its 2026 UK truck tyre agenda.
Building the UK commercial network
Dealer coverage will form another central part of the position. Hankook distributes truck and bus products through Fleet Management Service partners, which provide local access and support to operators.
The promotion follows other additions to Hankook Tyre UK’s truck and bus team. Tyre News reported in 2025 that the company had appointed Jason Bloor and Peter Hatton to strengthen national fleet and regional customer coverage.
Hankook has also maintained a visible presence at UK transport events. Its display at RTX 2026 included regional, long-haul and mixed-service products, as covered in Tyre News’ report on truck tyre technology at RTX 2026.
For fleet tyre businesses, the appointment signals closer integration between sales, network management and operational support. It also gives one manager broader responsibility for how Hankook’s commercial products and services reach UK operators.
