The Packaging Technician position is responsible for basic to complex packaging of company products. This position will also build packaging structures when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Wrapping glass and other fragile items in bubble wrap and other packing material.
- Prepping and marking hardware and ensuring all parts are accounted for.
- Taking photos to document all parts are present and packed properly.
- Completing paperwork as assigned to ensure all orders are properly tracked.
- Organizing boxes for better efficiency.
- Using our expanding foam system to properly pack our smaller products in boxes.
- Planning and scheduling out workflow to ensure maximum amount of product is packed.
- Building large crates out of 2x4s and plywood for our larger fixtures.
- Bracing and securing products into large crates or boxes.
- Assist in training new team members when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- 1 years of experience in similar position preferred but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Power Tools, Hand Tools, etc.
- Works well as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to show high attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours every day.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks and being able to change assignments or direction on short notice.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours per day.
- Able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder level.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with dust and moderate to high noise level.
