About the role

About the Role:

This role is a fantastic opportunity to work as an embedded resource with one of the largest Utilities in the United States. This position is responsible for providing real-time technical expertise and technical support to substation maintenance and construction crews for high-voltage substations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design various electrical projects including creating one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, electrical schematics, communication diagrams, panel layouts, general arrangements, section views, connection details, and grounding systems
  • Plan and develop drawings for production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity
  • Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects
  • Analyze reports, drawings and tests to plan and design projects
  • Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements
  • Review design drawings for quality assurance within scope, budget and schedule
  • Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines
  • Compute calculations for AC systems, DC systems, cables, conduit, and grounding designs
  • Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information are stored in a logical and well-structural manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with substations and power distribution
  • Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently
  • Extensive knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others including, but not limited to Project Managers, Engineers and Designers in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Expected Hourly Range: $45-55/hr pending experience
