About the role

**The Role:** We are looking for an experienced Business Operations Manager to join our team, reporting into both our General Counsel and Manager of People Operations. This role will manage the end-to-end administration of key Legal and HR operations, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership. It will entail a heavy administrative load and frequent context switching, so we need someone with an analytical mindset to critically think through all tasks assigned with quality and precision in mind. We are a lean team, so our ideal candidate is a quick learner who approaches new information with curiosity and demonstrated understanding. This role will be supporting multiple functions, so we need someone who is flexible and can manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency and organization. As we operate in a fast-paced startup environment, the role will occasionally be faced with new challenges that will need to be addressed quickly and resourcefully. Therefore, our ideal candidate will take direction with flexibility but also operate under high levels of ambiguity with a bias toward decisive action. The Business Operations Manager will play a critical role in our operational success, contributing to the seamless operation of our Legal and HR functions. **Responsibilities:** * Own the end-to-end administration of key HR operational activities including new hire onboarding, payroll, benefits, worker’s compensation and employee record-keeping, ensuring all processes comply with regulatory standards and internal policies. * Manage annual cycles such as payroll year end and open enrollment and support other cycles such as annual performance and merit. * Manage global employment through our international employer of record (“EOR”) and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for global new hires. * Provide administrative support for key HR operational activities such as offboarding, job and compensation changes, immigration, leaves of absence and other tasks and projects as needed. * Utilize internal systems to keep files organized and readily assessable, as needed by COO and General Counsel. Generate reports based on specific contracts. * Manage insurance applications, updates, and requests. * Maintain corporate filings and annual reports (state registrations and SOS fillings). * Assist legal with document preparation and follow up correspondence with vendors and potential customers. * Support legal with foreign entity formation and related matters. * Assist legal with equity management (Carta, 83bs, required IRS filings). * Support culture-building and engagement activities such as regional team meetups. **Skills and Qualifications:** * 6+ years of HR, legal or operational experience, preferably several years at a fast-growing, early stage start up. * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced startup environment with precision. * Ability to take direction with flexibility. * Bias toward decisive action and end-to-end ownership of all assigned tasks. * Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to take initiative and naturally curious. * Analytical mindset with a bias toward continuous process improvement. **Benefits:** Halcyon offers the following benefits to eligible employees: * Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents * 401k plan with a generous employer contribution * Short and long-term disability coverage, basic life and AD&D insurance plans * Medical and dependent care FSA options * Flexible PTO policy * Parental leave * Generous equity offering The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.​ **Base Salary Range**: $90,000 - $125,000 In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
