About Position
We are looking for an experienced Hadoop Administrator with strong exposure to MAPR, Hortonworks (HWX), and automation frameworks to manage, monitor, and optimize large-scale distributed data environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Hadoop ecosystem administration, cluster management, performance tuning, and automation of operational processes.

What You'll Do
- Administer and manage Hadoop clusters (MAPR and Hortonworks distributions) in production environments.
- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, etc.).
- Monitor cluster health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and performance optimization.
- Implement and maintain automation scripts/tools for deployment, monitoring, and incident management (using Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Manage security configurations including Kerberos, Ranger, and access controls.
- Work on capacity planning, cluster scaling, and performance tuning.
- Support data engineering and application teams in resolving platform-related issues.
- Handle backup, disaster recovery, and data replication strategies.
- Ensure log analysis, incident management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve system reliability and efficiency.
Expertise You'll Bring
- 6+ years of experience in Hadoop administration and big data ecosystem management.
- Strong hands-on experience with MAPR and Hortonworks (HWX) platforms.
- Expertise in Hadoop ecosystem tools: HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Sqoop, Oozie, Kafka.
- Experience in cluster setup, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Proven experience in automation (Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or similar tools).
- Familiarity with cluster monitoring tools like Ambari, Cloudera Manager, or MAPR Control System.
- Experience in implementing security frameworks (Kerberos, Ranger).
- Understanding of data pipelines and ETL workflows.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
