About the role

Responsibilities: Job Summary: As a Manager II Manufacturing Maintenance, you'll manage a Manufacturing Maintenance team. Your scope of responsibility will include one or more manufacturing plant(s) with a broad customer base and include development and control of the plant repair budget and direction of the maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Management:
• Leads a Manufacturing Maintenance team (Technical and Team Leaders, Technicians, Planners, storeroom Partners)
• Leads a smaller, less complex team to develop / implement safety and regulatory compliance programs (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local agencies) and develop / control department annual facility repair and equipment replacement budgets
• Hires / sets expectations for / monitors exempt and non-exempt Partners; provides timely, meaningful performance feedback for Maintenance Team
• Provides maintenance management, reliability-centered maintenance, and asset management training opportunities for manufacturing teams
• Provides direction to Maintenance Planner, maintenance team to develop plans that optimize useful asset life and a focus on total life cycle cost of assets
• Leads / serves as oversight for storeroom inventory and storeroom team with a focus on inventory accuracy
• Maintains floor presence; supports root cause analysis; performs audits of maintenance-related Maintenance team activities
• Develops / implements standard leading key performance indicators to ensure efficient, effective use of maintenance resources
• Reviews maintenance cost and KPI effectiveness data with plant engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams; directs necessary course corrections
• Leads / oversees planned maintenance; focuses on developing forward-looking (2+ weeks) maintenance plans
• Ensures CMMS system functions to provide meaningful life cycle information; ensures team system-use compliance
• Executes reliability strategies, goals, and expectations in conjunction with Reliability Engineering teams
• Collaborates with Ops leadership, using data from CMMS, to develop strategies that optimize direct maintenance costs and collateral operations costs
• Serves as subject matter expert; collaborates with Engineering, Operations, suppliers to develop / update design specifications for capital investments
• Fosters a continuous improvement philosophy related to industrial maintenance processes, methods, and systems; develops supporting strategies to implement continuous improvement

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in multiple manufacturing and warehousing facilities - Required
  • Experience in manufacturing / warehousing maintenance leadership - Required

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced verbal / written communication skills - Required
  • Advanced PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word), computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), Internet - Required
  • Strong management / leadership skills - Required
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) skills a plus - Required

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree of science degree from ABET-accredited school in engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, industrial - Required

  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • CMRP - Required
  • ability to obtain in 12 months - Required

  • Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
  • Work flexible and/or rotating schedules, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Respond to / spend long periods of time during emergency situations, day or night
  • Stand, stoop, walk, bend, and climb (expected) with or without accommodations
  • Climb ladders or stairs to gain access to rooftops and elevated work platforms
  • Work in and around industrial facilities (e.g., food, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, electrical less than 600V, and refrigerated); work on wet, slippery production floors (e.g., water, product, chemicals); work around gaseous materials (e.g., cleaning and sanitation agents, ammonia)
  • Work in inside temps ranging from -35 to 130 degrees and with noise levels ranging from normal to 100 db
  • Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more
