About The Job As a software developer at Gymdesk, you will be joining a small but effective team, working closely with colleagues in our product, support and customer success teams. The engineering team is globally distributed, and currently spans 6 countries; despite this, we are a close-knit team and make it work, taking everybody's needs into consideration. What does a typical week look like here? Here are some of the tasks you can expect to work on in a given week: Enhancing existing features based on internal and customer feedback Optimizing pages, flows and performance to increase conversion and retention Troubleshooting and fixing bugs Designing, planning and building new features from the ground up Writing automated tests Giving and responding to code reviews Assisting with backlog refinement Attending retrospectives and planning sessions Helping us meet our non-functional goals (performance, security, etc) Conducting technical and functional spikes What's the tech stack? Our main web-application is built on Zend Framework, with server-side rendered templates, MySQL for data persistence, and jQuery for frontend behaviour. We are increasingly moving towards an API-first design, and make heavy use of Symfony components within our existing ecosystem. Our mobile app is built with Flutter.
