We are hiring a Guidewire Rating Developer with 5+ years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating module and strong exposure to Guidewire Digital Portal Backend / Edge APIs. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in rating configuration, Gosu development, integrations, and API development to support scalable and secure backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and enhance Guidewire PolicyCenter rating components such as Rate Books, Rate Tables, Rate Routines, Rate Factors, Modifiers, Tiering Logic, and Underwriting Rules.
- Implement and support both SBT and Non-SBT rating approaches as per business requirements.
- Develop and customize Gosu code to build and enhance rating logic, plugins, and system functionalities.
- Work on system improvements, custom enhancements, and troubleshooting issues related to rating configurations.
- Develop and maintain backend services for Guidewire Digital Portal solutions using the Edge/API layer.
- Design, build, and document RESTful APIs for Digital Portal applications and external integrations.
- Extend and customize Guidewire Edge architecture and Digital APIs to meet customer-specific needs.
- Manage integrations between PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter to ensure smooth data flow and processing.
- Ensure backend services meet performance, scalability, and security standards.
- Follow best practices for secure coding, API governance, and data handling.
Required Skills & Experience
- should have 5+ years of overall experience with strong exposure to Guidewire development and implementation projects.
- Must have hands-on experience working with at least one Guidewire product such as PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter (PolicyCenter preferred).
- Should have strong expertise in the PolicyCenter Rating module with proven experience in rating configuration and development.
- Must have strong knowledge of the Guidewire platform, including Gosu scripting, UI configuration, and Guidewire data model concepts.
- Should have good working knowledge of Web Services (REST/SOAP), XML, and Ant scripts.
- Must have strong experience working with databases such as Oracle and/or SQL Server with excellent SQL skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in developing and supporting Guidewire Digital Portal / Edge API solutions will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of backend API performance optimization and secure development practices is preferred.
- Prior experience in handling complex integrations across Guidewire applications and third-party systems is highly desirable.
