Role Description The Guidewire Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Guidewire-based solutions for insurance clients, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure implementations. Day-to-day activities include configuring Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter modules, writing and optimizing Gosu code, integrating Guidewire with external systems and APIs, and supporting end-to-end implementation and customization efforts. The role involves collaborating closely with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and client stakeholders to understand requirements, refine user stories, and deliver robust features within agreed timelines. The developer will also troubleshoot production issues, perform performance tuning, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Guidewire products (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) and configuration/customization using Gosu.
- Experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages and familiarity with web technologies (REST APIs, XML/JSON, web services).
- Knowledge of insurance domain concepts such as policy administration, claims processing, billing, and underwriting.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases, data modeling, and integration tools or middleware used in enterprise environments.
- Ability to analyze requirements, translate them into technical designs, and produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to debug and resolve complex application and integration issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and interact with client stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Guidewire certifications are a strong advantage.
- Experience in Agile or Scrum environments and familiarity with tools such as Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
