Property: Alexander Heritage 1907 – The Silent Estate (Matheran)
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper / General Manager
Position Type: Full-Time
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Guest Service Associate (GSA) in Housekeeping, you are not just a cleaner; you are a Custodian of the
Estate. Following our revamp into "The Silent Estate," your role is to maintain the ultra-luxury "Old Money"
aesthetic of our Signature Heritage Suites and Rainforest Pavilions. You are responsible for ensuring that
every guest sanctuary remains a pristine, silent, and sensory-rich environment that justifies our premium
positioning.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sanctuary Maintenance (Guest Rooms & Suites):
Precision Cleaning: Execute meticulous cleaning of Signature Heritage Suites, focusing on high-end
textures: polished brass fixtures, hammered copper soaking tubs, and vintage wood surfaces.
The "Silent" Standard: Perform all duties with minimal noise, respecting the "Digital Detox" and
"Silent Estate" atmosphere of the property.
Linen Excellence: Maintain the highest standards for high-thread-count linens, ensuring they are crisp,
perfectly pressed, and scent-neutral.
Turn-Down Ritual: Execute the evening turn-down service, including setting the mood with low-
saturation lighting, preparing the copper tub, and placing heritage-inspired amenities.
Public Areas & Architectural Marvels:
Glass House Care: Maintain the absolute clarity of the Glass House Conservatory and Crystal
Pavilion (Glass Pool). These glass structures must be smudge-free to provide 360-degree forest views.
Heritage Preservation: Use specific, non-corrosive cleaning agents to preserve 100-year-old colonial
tiles and woodwork.
Logistics & Efficiency:
No-Car Coordination: Efficiently manage the transport of linens and supplies within the car-free estate
using designated heritage trolleys.
Stock Management: Monitor and replenish premium "Forest Botanical" amenities and artisanal tea
station supplies in guest rooms.
3. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Previous experience in a luxury boutique hotel or high-end heritage property is preferred.
Detail Orientation: An obsessive eye for detail (e.g., ensuring brass is streak-free and pillows are
perfectly fluffed).
Physical Fitness: Ability to navigate the estate’s forest terrain and heritage pathways comfortably.
Discretion: A professional, quiet demeanor that aligns with our "Quiet Luxury" brand.
4. WHAT WE OFFER
The opportunity to be part of a landmark strategic pivot in the luxury hospitality sector.
Training in "Old Money" service standards and heritage preservation.
A unique working environment within a 1907-founded forest sanctuary.
5. PERFORMANCE BENCHMARKS
Achieving a 100% "Pristine Score" during daily suite inspections.
Zero guest complaints regarding noise or visibility of housekeeping operations.
Consistent maintenance of the "Glass House" transparency standards.
