About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer (L1) with 6 months to 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting network security infrastructure, particularly firewalls. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, with added advantage for experience in FortiGate and Cisco firewalls.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, manage, and support firewall security infrastructure (primarily Palo Alto, FortiGate, and Cisco firewalls).
  • Respond to network security alerts and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine firewall rule changes, configuration updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and internal teams to ensure the security posture of the organization is maintained.
  • Assist in maintaining security documentation, including change records and network diagrams.
  • Work with ticketing systems to resolve issues and complete tasks as per defined SLAs.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call support and shift rotations, if applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.E / B. Tech degree in computer science, information technology, or master’s degree preferred.
  • 6 months to 3 years of experience in network security or related roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Good to have knowledge of FortiGate and Cisco firewalls.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with security incident response and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician (PCCET) or PCNSA
  • Fortinet NSE 1/2/3 or above
  • Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate or CCNA Security
